Edits on LifeLock

Welcome to Wikipedia. I notice that you removed topically-relevant content from LifeLock. However, Wikipedia is not censored to remove content that might be considered objectionable. Please do not remove or censor information that directly relates to the subject of the article. If the content in question involves images, you have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide images that you may find offensive. Hey, yes, you are able to insert/edit/remove information as long as there are reliable sources. The problem is, that all the content on the page before you completely revised it, was all mainly reliably sourced. If the information is incomplete, feel free to add sourced information to the page, but generally, removing information is a bad idea. The reason for this message (and the one below), is that this appears to be a "Conflict of Interest". On your page you list yourself as an expert on "identity theft protection", which could mean that you work for the company LifeLock or wouldn't be a neutral author on the subject (you might be biased to make it sound better than it actually is). For me, the main thing that I saw as wrong (though I am by no means the authority; Wikipedia is a community project), is that the "Controversy" section was removed and replaced with an awards section. Not only do I believe the controversy to be important for people looking into the subject, but adding an awards section instead looks, well... "fishy". If all these edits are indeed not biased (eg. you don't work for LifeLock or equivalent). Then feel free to add/edit any sourced information that you had before. Even though I reverted the page, all your work is still in the history of the page, and you can copy it from there (please don't completely revert to your revision). Conflict of Interest?

Hello, Jaxman123. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article LifeLock, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Regarding your message, while it is not strictly against Wikipedia rules for you to edit articles for organizations you represent, you should exert extreme caution when doing so, making sure to maintain a neutral point of view at all times. In general, recent consensus amongst Wikipedia editors suggests that, if you represent an organization, your best route toward influencing the content of the associated article is to express your suggestions on the article's talk page, rather than making edits directly. One more thing, when you leave a message on a talk page, please "Sign" your message by typing four tildes (~) at the end of the message. LifeLock article

Don't get discouraged. All ia not lost. As you can see by checking the history of the article and the article talk page, many editors have been involved with this article. I'm sure someone has it watchlisted and you can work with them to include, if appropriate, your awards section. You have joined Wikipedia at a time when Advocacy is a big issue.
