Gjilan

Information icon Hello, I'm Hakuli. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk. Thanks.

Please stop re-editing my articles, I have great attention to safe resources.

  1. Resources that are unsafe I am removing from articles based on Wikipedia:WikiProject Albania and Wikipedia:WikiProject Kosovo. In the last editing of the website of Gjilan, I removed those sources because they are not in English and are also in Cyrillic alphabet .
  2. The sources that are in the article "Gjilan" are not safe sources, safe non-English sources are only from official sites known by Wikipedia.
  3. I will continue to edit the article as there are many mistakes in it. I will also find safe sources after living in the city of Gjilan!

--Hakuli (talk) 22:19, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hakuli.
  1. The sources are safe and they were used in numerous of other articles.
  2. As for adding non-english sources, as I said to you, please read the instructions [[1]]. There are no "official sites from wikipedia" as these sources are books so I am surprised that you are not familiar with adding sources.
  3. It is ok that you live in Gnjilan, but it has nothing to do with the verifiability and objectivity. If there are some mistakes I happily invite you to fix them, but deleting sources which are without reading them seems to me like bias. I hope that is not the case because there is no room for some bias, especially chauvinism and ultra-nationalism on Wikipedia.
Also, I reverted your removals of the sections which you haven't properly explained. You need to be conscious that there are other users who are doing the same job as you do and if others are reverting you edits, you need to cooperate and to elaborate your edits. If you are showed wrong, you should stop. Otherwise you risk being reported for Edit-warings. I know that you are doing your edits in a good faith, but you need to explain your edits more and to get consensus from other users for the page, especially if everyone was against it. This is the case not only on Gnjilan page, but, for example, on this page [2].

(talk-page stalker) Hakuli, there seems to be no doubt that you editing is driven by an Wikipedia:IDONTLIKEIT method. Yes, we can all see you are Kosovo Albanian and you edit tendentiously in a clear pro-Albanian way and anti-Serb. Be aware that there are many Serbian and Albanian editors here able to edit articles neutrally and, at least, follow the Wikipedia:RULES. At article Gjilan you seem to have a problem of Wikipedia:OWN as you live there. However, the edits you are doing are not about something "you know because you live there now" but rather about the history of the town. You were not in Gjilan in Middle Ages so you cannot say reliable sources are wrong because of your current supositions. Your claim about sources (and not "resources" as you call them) being invalid because they are in Cyrillic is incorrect. Despite this being English Wikipedia, what matters for sources is for them to be reliable (read Wikipedia:Reliable source) meaning, scholary, and not the language. The sources you are challenging are published books, so quite reliable. They deal with the history of the town. For you to challenge them, you need to find sources as strong as they are, with contradicting information. Otherwise your removal of info and sources is pure vandalism. If you continue to edit this way, you will be reported. FkpCascais (talk) 22:51, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed with the FkpCascais.James Jim Moriarty (talk) 22:58, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you James, I also agree with what you said. Just as note, since I speak Serbian and I even worked as translator earlier in my life, I am at disposal to translate the quotes from the books if necessary. Some of the quotes have no mention of the book down at sources section, so there seems to have happened already some prior removal of content in past as well. FkpCascais (talk) 23:06, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to translate to make it according to Wikipedia:Verifiability#Citing_non-English_sources. I have seen that you improved the translations so I am very thankful for that. As you worked as a translator, expect from me in some time in the future, asks for help on that to make adequate translations. Best regards, James Jim Moriarty (talk) 23:16, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
FkpCascais, James Jim Moriarty Okay, I will not delete your resources, but please translate them in English, I and the rest of the world can not read the Serbian language. Also, at the same time, I will edit the article and add my resources to English and Albanian language translated into English! --Hakuli (talk) 23:32, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@James, sure, feel absolutelly welcome to ping me anytime. I worked as informal translator for Serbo-Croatian, Portuguese and Spanish, somethimes also English, although English I only worked as simultaneous translator, because I speak and understand well, but still write it awfully. About Hakuli, I hope we help him to become a productive editor. He is clearly nationalistically-driven but that may ironically not be bad since gives him impuls and desire to improve articles he is proud of, however, lets hope he learns to adhere to NPOV. Cheers!
@Hakuli, they are translated, see down where says "References". FkpCascais (talk) 23:38, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'd appreciate if you didn't misrepresent my position

On Talk:Marino Becichemo you misrepresented my position (with the "versus Ktrimi and Calthinus who are against having the material" or something like that quote, I saw it before but I can't find it again in the 9000K or so of text). My position is not that the article should not mention the claims by Yugoslav authors as to his purportedly Slavic origin from near Kotor. It is that they should be quarantined into an "Ethnicity dispute" subsection. I said this very explicitly, and I later said that I accepted Ktrimi's solution of removing all Balkan sources when no one showed interest in my proposal. Please don't misrepresent my position. I'll write a reply when I get a moment. Thanks, --Calthinus (talk) 18:21, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that you misrepresented my position - nobody in the Croatian sources deny that he had Albanian identity, that he felt that way etc. So these sources doesn't counter the fact that he knew Albanian language and probably felt that way. They just point to the simple fact that members of Becich family (as they were putted in census before) lived there and by his surname that he is by origin from them. As for what you said, I deleted my last answer here as I understood what you have meant after I read it carefully. You have more simpler proposal I gave there - just as it was done in the Marin Barleti article: "Italians considers him as Italian, Albanians as Albanian" (I mean sources). So here it should go "Croatian, Montenegrin and Serbian" sources consider his family origin as Albanian. James Jim Moriarty (talk) 18:53, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As for 9000K text, well, as Ktrimi insisted on reverts, I analyzed everything. James Jim Moriarty (talk) 18:53, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
