Max Schmelling

Thanks for your message. I believe there was propaganda on both sides. Hitler and co. portrayed it as a fight between "ayran" and "non-ayran", and that "aryan" was superior. Ayrans were the ideal nazis, and non-ayrans were, well like you and me, and Joe Louis, ordinary folks. On the other hand, the US Government portrayed it as a fight of evil nazis, including Max Schmelling himself versus ordinary (decent) American folk. Both were propaganda, as it was really a fight between two ordinary guys, and Max Schmelling was not a nazi, just happened to be living in Germany at the time, and quite a good boxer. You are obviously keen oin boxing given your nickname. What do you think about the fights between Louis and Schmelling. I would be very interested to know. Thank you. Wallie 18:12, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
