Kenya article

Hi Jack. I noticed that you added the following to the Kenya Article: "Cushitic-speaking people, as termed by Schloezer, from northern Africa, moved into the area that is now Kenya beginning around 2000 BC. Arab traders began frequenting the Kenya coast around the 1st century AD." I'm a bit confused by what you added. Who is Schloezer. Also can you add a reference to this. Hi, Welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for dropping by with your concern. The Edit i made about Ethiopia was simply replacing with the appropriate source. I have also provided an Edit explanation in the Edit summary. Regarding the sources, if you go back a few weeks into the page, a couple of random sources that don't have any relation to the sentence that ends with the phrase "culminating in its victory over the Italians at the Battle of Adwa in 1896 with the military leadership of Ras Makonnen, and ensuring its sovereignty and freedom from colonization" were randomly added. I removed those unrelated sources after carefully checking them and reading their topics and replaced them with a textbook previously quoted appropriately. This source has been correctly used before for the phrase above and related topics so it is important that the sentences always match and reflect the sources given. I will put back the source but if you have any questions or concerns let me know in this talk page ahead of time. thanks Jack248 17:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Arab and Ottoman support

You're right to state their importance in the latter half of the war, but the section you wrote was on the war itself. If you discussed perhaps the Imam's specific dealings with the Turks and Arabs (not just that he had Turk and Arab musketeers and cannoneers), then it would have been more appropriate, though. Try rewriting it with more specific information if you have it. Refugee article original research

Hi. I reverted your edits to the refugee article because they constitute original research. You need to provide sources to back up your claims that asylum seekers move for economic reasons. Citing some sources that claim that individual asylum seekers have done so is not enough - the sources need to establish that this is a notable phenomenon. Hello mate, you added a section called '"Abyssinian Colonialism" terminology dispute' to the Oromo Liberation Front page. I've added that info under the "Colonial Claims" subsection under Criticism of the OLF. If you think it deserves it's own section, feel free to undo my revision but I would suggest you leave it because it looked out of place between the History section and the Alleged Terrorism section. I would also like to point out that one of the articles you used as a reference (Oromo History 101) has been disputed as being incorrect and there have been suspicions as to who its alleged author was. Global Fire Power

Hi Jack248. First of all, thanks for the link; it's quite interesting. That said, Global Fire Power appears to be the original ranking. Nazret just links to it and annotates a regional ranking. However, as a blog, the latter is not a reliable source. I agree, though, that although Global Fire Power's ranking is global (hence its tradename), 40th is rather bland. I therefore suggest we note its ranking in Africa as a whole (3rd after Egypt and Algeria), and link that directly to Global Fire Power.
