Flag icons in infoboxes

You may want to read WP:FLAG and, specifically, WP:FLAGBIO. Thanks! --Midnightdreary (talk) 21:24, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again! Just a reminder: you should not add flag icons to infoboxes. Above, I have linked the policy that says exactly that but I'm not sure why you went ahead and added more flag icons to infoboxes. A couple of people are doing a lot of work to revert your edits. --Midnightdreary (talk) 13:28, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, you adding the wrong flag (Georgia the country vs. Georgia the state) to Gertrude Baines, completely ignoring my edit summary that explained my revision. Please do not continue in this vein, or else your edits might be considered disruptive. Cheers, CP 20:12, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Jane Austen

Hello, I'm not sure if you saw my edit summary of my last revert, but it's quite clearly stated at the top of the article in a hidden comment: "Please do not change this image to the 1870 portrait, painted after Austen's death (see talk page)--Thanks" and "Please do not add an infobox (see talk page)--Thanks". This is why I have reverted your edits (twice), in which you added not only the 1870 portrait but also an infobox. If you have any questions, you can comment on the article's talk page. Thanks, María (habla conmigo) 14:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning Walter Breuning

In US states oldest living and oldest all-time you have changed the record holder of Montana to Walter Breuning several times. Please don't do this again, since Walter Breuning was born in Minnesota and not Montana. The list of alltime recordholders quite clearly states that it is by state of birth, and therefore Walter Breuning has several years to go (since the current recordholder Catherine Hagel is still alive). The "currently living" page does list by state of inhabitance, but his name shouldn't be highlighted since he is not the oldest alltime in any state. Please do not change these things again. If you have an opinion on whether the lists really should be by state of birth etc, please take it to the talk page instead.(Yubiquitoyama (talk) 15:40, 26 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

A tag has been placed on Maggie Barnes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Cheers, CP 16:09, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please note that there was an AfD for George Rene Francis, which concluded that he should be a redirect, not his own individual page. Please stop recreating material that was deleted at WP:AfD, such as Maggie Barnes, or you may be blocked for disruption. Cheers, CP 19:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name removals

If there is a reason for you removing some part of the names of supercentenarians, say this in talk. As of now, I can see no such reasons for the particular names you have removed, but as in the italian cases, maybe there is. In such case, FIRST disuss this on the discussion page, THEN remove them. And if someone reverts an edit of yours, please pay attention to this, because that is an even better reason for being careful with that change, and to make sure there is concensus by using the talk page. Just doing the change all over again is all but constructive. (Yubiquitoyama (talk) 16:26, 1 August 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Images

Hi J.J. Boone! You're uploading a lot of images of living people that you appear to have found on the internet or otherwise don't own the rights to.

Each of these images will be deleted in the near future, because they are violations of copyright.

Please stop uploading non-free images of living people. Thanks. ➨ REDVERS in a car - no brakes? I don't mind 12:07, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since I posted the above, you have uploaded three more images without licence details. I assume you thought I was joking. However, I'm not. Please stop these types of image uploads. They will all be deleted so you are wasting effort. Also, if you continue, you will be blocked from editing in order to protect Wikipedia from copyright issues. Do you understand? ➨ REDVERS in a car - no brakes? I don't mind 18:39, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Browning

I recently reverted an edit you did on Robert Browning, where all you had done was introduce autoformatting on the date. I have to admit that I didn't understand autoformatting at that time, and if I had done so I'd have left your edit as it was, so I apologise. We keep on learning. Image issues

Please stop uploading images you find on random websites unless you know their copyright information. As has been explained to you before, Wikipedia has to take copyright very seriously, and these images will likely be deleted if their copyright status cannot be resolved. If you continue uploading unsourced images with unknown copyright information, you will be blocked from editing. (ESkog)(Talk) 13:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

August 2008

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive uploads.
The next time you upload an inappropriate image, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.  Asenine  20:27, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked until copyright issues are clarified

Mr Boone -

It appears that you have repeatedly and against multiple warnings and notices uploaded significant numbers of copyright violation images into Wikipedia.

It may be that those images are freely licensed or public domain - however, at this point, it appears not. As you have repeated this behavior after multiple warnings, I have blocked your account from editing (other than your talk page here) for an indefinite period of time.

If those images are already freely licensed or public domain, you need to explain and describe that here. If you are the owner / photographer / copyright holder for them you need to clearly state that.

If those are not your images, then we need to remove them. All of them.

I would like to request that you cooperate here and just tell us where the images came from. If you improperly uploaded them, but cooperate and agree not to do that again, then this block can be short and you can go back to contributing positively to Wikipedia. Once the situation is straightened out, I or another admin can unblock.

Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 20:33, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alternate IP

I'm not sure if this has been established, but I believe this editor has also edited and uploaded as an IP, and has made some edits after this block (though nothing outrageous). I've left some image-related warnings there (User talk:90.198.115.94) as well, and User:Redvers seems to concur that both are the same editor. Just wanted to note this here for the record. — TAnthonyTalk 20:47, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:EdwardCullen.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:EdwardCullen.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:17, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Aniţica Butariu, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Aniţica Butariu was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Aniţica Butariu, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
