License tagging for Image:Hisham 2small.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hisham 2small.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:07, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Themfromspace (talk) 02:21, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Hisham Abdelkhalek.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Hisham Abdel Khalek. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Akhenaten (musical) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://akhenatenthemusical.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself

Welcome to Wikipedia, but it is not a place like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles, and writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

I own all the copyrights of the photos and text and I give full authorisation for Wikipedia to use}} them as I am a public figure. Hisham Abdel Khalek (talk) 19:22, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You need to provide proof that you own it. Also, because Wikipedia licenses everything (except some special cases like fair use) under the Creative Commons license, you're literally releasing everything so that anyone anywhere can use it, provided they cite you as the source. That is, if you actually own the copyright. Gestrid (talk) 19:35, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am Hisham Abdel Khalek, and this photo is solo ownership of me as a public figure, director and producer. What proof you need Hisham Abdel Khalek (talk) 20:34, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Read all of Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials to understand what you're doing. I'm going to bring ShakespeareFan00 into this conversation, as they know a bit more about uploading images here than I do. Gestrid (talk) 21:02, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot, The thing, I don't want to delete the page, as it was there for years, and when I tried to updated with all the recent details and photos, Zackmann asked for delete , I just want to be guided well how to make it on Wiki rules, since I am the artist concerned and I own all the information, photos, text about myself and my work, and it is not for personal promotional, So I am trying to make it correct, and you guys are free to adjust and edit it to make it to Wiki standards and I totally appreciate all your help here. Hisham Abdel Khalek (talk) 22:39, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Hisham Abdel Khalek. I don't use email for normal Wikipedia business. I (and most other people here) use it whenever we're discussing something private, such as something that needs to be hidden from public view. (You wouldn't believe how much of that there is.) Anyway, I wouldn't be the person to go to for help writing an article for two main reasons. First, I don't have that kind of time at the moment. Second, I don't have experience in writing articles from scratch. I would recommend going through the Articles for Creation process. It allows you to write a draft of the article and, when you think it's ready, you can submit it for review by clicking the "Submit for review" button at the very top of the page. An experienced reviewer will take a look at the article (this may take a while, as AFC usually has a large backlog) and will tell you if it's ready or not. If it isn't, they'll tell you what you need to fix before you submit it again. (You can submit your draft for review as many times as need be.) If it is ready, they'll let you know and move it out of draft status to article status for you. With your article as a draft, the only way it could get deleted is if it was a copyright violation (but don't quote me on that). Gestrid (talk) 02:18, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia takes copyright seriously, even if you are the artist concerned. That said there's a general consensus, that if you are the primary subject of an article, you shouldn't write about yourself. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 10:04, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gestrid thanks a lot for your help and support, will do what you asked for, All my best regards, Hisham Abdel Khalek (talk) 12:14, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ShakespeareFan00 that's exactly what I am trying to do, and see who can write about me ... And again it is not for promotional reasons but I see and I know that Wikipedia is a source of information specially in my field like broadway musicals and also films and movies. Thanks again for all the information, I appreciate your help as well as Gestrid Hisham Abdel Khalek (talk) 12:18, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You uploaded, File:Hesham Nazih.jpg, where you either stated or implied that you had permission of a third party to upload it; or that evidence of such permission would be provided on request.

Wikipedia currently needs the permission to be explicit and proven at the time of upload.

Please read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission, which advises on how to confirm the permission you obtained from a third party.

It is also advisable to ask the third-party what source attribution they desire, as opposed to marking the image as having been "sent personally".

I will in good faith add {{OTRS pending}} ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 12:22, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again ShakespeareFan00 , Hesham Nazih, is the composer of my broadway musical and one of the terms in our contract that I am allowed to use his photo in any ways in all online and printed materials. Nazih is one of the top music composers in Egypt and he is very well known for his music in movies and tv shows. Also you can find several sites online using the same picture. So it is a public domain for use. Hope this can answer your question. All my best regards Hisham Abdel Khalek (talk) 12:26, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You'd need to let the OTRS queue have the appropriate confirmation of those contract details :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 13:30, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Hesham Nazih.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Hesham Nazih.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 15:35, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
