Image tagging for Image:DavidFrankel.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:DavidFrankel.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Adrian Clements Gore, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Adrian Gore. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:DavidFrankel.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 02:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:DavidFrankel.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:DavidFrankel.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 17:56, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:MakerBot ThingOMatic Bre Pettis.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:MakerBot ThingOMatic Bre Pettis.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 13:39, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am in the process of obtaining permission for using this image. If you have any info about where it came from and who the author is, let me know. Thanks! --Guy Macon (talk) 13:26, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Guy, have you had a look at the CC tag at the source URL I provided? Is it the wrong CC tag for this particular use? I was pretty sure that that the CC tag used there does allow non-commercial reuse. Maybe you could have a look and enlighten me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.84.118.35 (talk) 14:32, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I get it... CC BY NC2.0 is NOT considered Free for use on Wikipedia. (Why a Non-Commercial image can't be used, I don't know...) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.84.118.35 (talk) 14:38, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The reason Wikipedia cannot accept CC Noncommercial images is here: Wikipedia:Reusing Wikipedia content and Wikipedia:Buying Wikipedia articles in print or another form Having any CC Noncommercial images would mean that the uses that those two pages allow would be forbidden.
When I get a moment of free time (on a hot project right now) I am going to find the author and ask them to license it in a way that is compatible with Wikipdia (CC Attribution-ShareAlike or Public Domain).
I have contacted the owner and he has changed the licence to be "CC BY 2.0" - See http://www.flickr.com/photos/bre/3458247336/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.84.118.35 (talk) 12:34, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Ellis Laws

The article The Ellis Laws has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Book that seems to have little notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
