A Request

Long time chelsea fan here. I have a sincere request but before that i want to acknowledge something here. You and every chelsea fan knows what Petr is in history of football. I believe and many know it that by stats, he is undoubtedly the greatest pl gk of all time yet some hypocrites don't consider him even one of the greatest. I have plenty of references through which i can prove that he is one of the greatest of all time like jens and arsene's statement but a wikipedian named Boing!said zebedee tends to be his and mine's biggest hater and is reverting my edits without reason. Please look out the matter brother. Its for the respect of Petr cech and chelsea. I just want you to add-"He is considered by many to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time" to the page's front and for your convenience i want to tell you that its very easy to find the reference for this info and could be found by just searching-"Wenger on cech and Jens lehmann on cech". Coquitlam pics

Thanks for adding the Coquitlam pics. I felt the city hall pic was a bit too dark to use at the top of the article though, so I changed it back to the other one, which is a bit brighter and easier to view. Your pics are still great though; have you considered adding them to the Wikimedia Commons? The only problem I have with your pic is the massive difference between the dark and light colors, which left a lot of areas in the dark (too dark to see on my computer) while I can only see the parts directly lit by sunlight. Okay, I just found the link. It would've been better if you posted a link on the Coquitlam talkpage so we can all refer to it, but if those people think yours is better, then okay. (More discussion about this on the talkpage would've been helpful.) I do want people to have a choice though, so I moved my old pic to the gallery (because your photo's there twice -- at the top AND the gallery). I've only started photographing this past summer (I was doing movies before) so I guess I was judging my lighting statements on movies. SkyLink Aviation

I just noticed your edit there. The number of aircraft in the fleet is confusing. If you go to Transport Canada and search for Skylink using the owners box there are 8 aircraft registered to Skylink Express. Trying the search with Skylink Aviation turns up nothing. Hey Greg Salter, from what I'm aware of the situation regarding categories, two categories are mandatory: Radio stations in *Region* and *Format* radio stations in Canada. An ownership category can be added if the owner has several radio stations. Radio stations that have their studios in another city that is not their COL can be generally listed. The problem of listing every single city that the station serves is that the category section gets too crowded, for example CFUN-FM (formerly CKCL-FM) licensed to Chilliwack, has rebroadcasters in Abbotsford and Vancouver. If Wikipedia had to list every single station that the station serves, (eg. Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, Surrey, Abbotsford, etc.), the category section would be bloated (even more so if the station was in a place like New York City). єmarsee ^(Discuss) 01:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Greg, I've moved the 2 minor landing gear incidents to the 2007 Dash 8 landing gear incidents‎ page, which has a section for "Similar incidents". There is a hidden note at the top of the Incidents section on the Bombardier Dash 8‎, but I assume you either missed it, or thought it didn't apply because it said "2007". Coquitlam Dam

I don't feel like messing with the wording, but it is part of the Greater Vancouver Water District's water-supply infrastructure, and a big chunk of it in fact. A certain amount of water is dedicated to the Buntzen diversion but the Coquitlam watershed is part of "the watershed" and provides most/all of the water for the Cities of Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster and Surrey, not sure about Langley. The water board/district could use its own article at some point. If you poke around the GVRD and BC Hydro sites you'll find information on the water supply/apportionment and maybe stuff on "the mains" and associated reservoirs (there's a reservoir in the Como Lake area, for instance, and another in the Cariboo Hill/Fraser Heights area of New West, that are connected to the Coquitlam watershed supply). If you're a WP:Energy editor, NB that Daisy Lake Dam, Cheakamus Powerhouse, Burrard Generating Station (Burrard Thermal) and the individual dams and powerhouses of the Stave River Hydroelectric Development (and the individual Buntzen powerhouses....) could all use proper articles, if only stubs....again, BC Hydro's site is normally the main ref, but they've taken out a lot of technical details in the last while because of security concerns).Skookum1 (talk) 15:59, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Kwikweltem changes

thanks for creating that, I just wanted to explain the changes I made. "First Nation" titles are a convention for band government pages, which is why teh change in wording to the lede; this is not about the people as such i.e. detailed ethnography/history before the band came into existence - Kwikwetlem people, and they're not a neighbourhood; that woudl be the articles on the reserves (back in a bit with links to those, or redlinks and listings for them), which couldqualify as neighbourhoods, except they're technically not part of the city government. "People" cats are for individuals, e.g. Kwikwetlem Willie would qualify. Also the Kwikwetlem people article, once written, is the place to include all the variant spellings, not just the one currently in use by the band. Resources for that article include this BNGNIS entry (Coquitlam River) and also this one, for Brownsville/Kikait and also this one for Qiqayt (parallel article to Brownsville). Oh, one more thing, on http://www.inac.gc.ca you'll find First Nation details pages and listings of rserves and such; they're standard reference citations for band governments and reserves; not much more in them than what you've already got, but they're handy with bands that have multiple reserves, i.e. finding out who's in charge of what and what the population of each is....see List of Indian reserves in Canada, BC section and following various links; if t he Coquitlam reserve articles aren't made yet I'll do up stubs and be back here with them; whether or not an Indian Reserve is a neighbourhood of the municipality that surrounds it is a nitpicky kind of issue; myself I don't think so because of jurisdictional issues but that's open to discussion.Skookum1 (talk) 20:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Something wrong

Matt Good pic

Looking through that contributor's history I'm getting a little annoyed. I've started reverting the more blatant examples of promotion and conflict of interest (see the contributor's talk page, where s/he admits she's employed by the photographer to do this, and keeps doing it when it gets undone). There are other examples of horrible image switches, see Flight of the Conchords addition, and its revert by User:Gadfium because "The previous photo was better because their faces are visible" (let alone it is just a better quality image regardless). It gets even more amusing when you read the photographer Kris Krug's actual page. Looks nicely referenced and all? Check the sources, about 17 are blogs, others are simply websites he has worked with with no assertion of notability. No reliable third-party sources asserting notability whatsoever! What promotional puffery! I have nominated it for deletion. I don't know how, as I've never done it, but I'm seriously considering doing some sort of conflict of interest RfC for this situation.

Tri-Cities Xtreme became the CMFSC Premier Womens team - one of 200+ (estimate) teams in the club

The club is not a professional club it is amateur and primarily youth oriented with 5-10 adult teams

Kwikwetlem <=> Sto:lo

The thing about those edits, which I saw and noted, and went to the band's website to read up, is that many in non-Sto:lo Nation/Sto:lo Tribal Council bands don't like the term Sto:lo; mostly that's bands downstream from Chilliwack though it does include the Sts'ailes/Chehalis. Not sure about the Matsquis. Many groups were known by their own names long before the Sto:lo name came along, including the Kwantlens and Matsquis and Sumas and Scowlitz. The plethora of bands in the Chilliwack area needed a coalescing term; for whatever reason the old Chilliwyheuk (in various spellings) was not acceptable to bands like the Cheam and upstream; not sure about Seabird, though it helps to understand that that band is of hybrid origin, with people from other areas settlnig there to be near the old residential school etc.... the Yale and Union Bar and other upriver bands also aren't "Chilliwacks"....and I remember Coqualeetza being used, that's derived from the residential schools at Sardis near CFB Chilliwack....so 'Sto:lo' was come up with, and it just means "the Fraser River"; the older-era term was "Fraser River Salish" and long ago, "Cowidgin" (Cowichan) was used, on the premise that they spoke the same language as the groups now part of the Cowichan Tribes band government......ramble ramble ramble. My point is that the downriver bands, though they speak Upriver Halkomelem, have their own identities separate from the notion that "Sto:lo = Halqemeylem speaking peoples". It doesn't. BUT on the Kwikwetlem site the history page has stuff published from the Sto:lo Nation.... so my guess about those edits is that it was a tribal member who doesn't like the association with Sto:lo, or a Sto:lo who doesn't consider the Kwikwetlem part of them; there's a long story about a class war with the Kwantlens and who was who at Kekait (Qiqayt/Brownsville) and the Katzies being older than all the rest of them, and more (look on the BC Names ref for Brownsville, British Columbia, I think some of that is there. I was going to call the band and just ask, but I can't cite that...... but we do need a citation somewhere listing Sto:lo-identifying peoples...... or those recognized by the Sto:lo as being part of them. This is also a situation where the Indian Act separate a fairly homogenous mass into separate bands creating or reinforcing divisions that weren't really there; or were there, and found expression in separate bands; there's a grudge between teh Kwikwetlems and the Kwantlens, or so I've heard, and between the Katzie and the Kwantlens...and if you go upriver to the "real" Sto:lo you'll find more...... there's good reason there's not political unity across the Halkomelem-speaking world, suffice to say; tragic given they're one of the largest language areas in BC, population wise.Skookum1 (talk) 07:08, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Pitt Meadows Airport

I understand your point, but for all intents and purposes, they are the same airport. The Harbour Air check-in is in the airport terminal, people park in the same lot, Harbour Air calls it Pitt Meadows Airport, the only real difference is that the planes use the river 300m south of the terminal, instead of the runway 240m north of the terminal. 99% of the people who visit the airport's Wiki page would never think of the two as separate airports. In fact, the "Aerodrome" is nothing more than a dock beside the airport. This isn't the same as YVR, where there is a full separate complex dedicated to float planes. Even the airport's own website lists everything as one:

"The Airport consists of a staffed control tower, terminal building, restaurant, three paved runways: one 4692 ft., one 2484 ft., one 2485 ft. and a water runway."

In a way it's the same as the two in Vancouver. A number of float planes are listed at one of the Vancouver International Airports terminals but they must be leaving from the float base.
