A tag has been placed on V groove guide wheels requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Help! Yipe.

I could definitely use some help here. I have been trying to contribute information on mechanical bearings but my information was deleted. I am new to using Wikipedia, but I have read guidelines and am trying to understand. I recently contributed information on a type of bearing with no mention of product names but just the mention of a type of technology, the patent date and a third party document as backup, and it was deleted. Help is needed! Thank you. -GortGetsGoing (talk) 18:20, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Question: could you link us to the article you're talking about - even if it doesn't exist anymore? -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 18:34, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nevermind, am I to assume you're talking about the article directly above this notice that has been deleted? -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 18:35, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GortGetsGoing (talk) 18:38, 13 September 2010 (UTC) Nope. Not that. That was actually me just learning how to use Wikipedia, and I somehow made it go live without realizing so then it was deleted. Totally different situation. GortGetsGoing (talk) 18:38, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • What page are you talking about then? -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 18:39, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the link to the article. I got a PDF copy and hosted it so I could share it. Article by Gina Gotsill... http://www.bwc.com/pdf/news/1737_MSD_BIWI_eprint_.pdf I tried to add... Designed in 1968 and later patented in 1972, Bishop-Wisecarver's co-founder Bud Wisecarver created vee groove bearing guide wheels, a type of linear motion bearing consisting of both an external and internal 90 degree vee angle. [1] ...but it was considered spam. How do I "unspam" this contribution. GortGetsGoing (talk) 18:52, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I eventually managed to track down the edit you seem to be referring to. (It was not easy, as you did not give the name of the Wikipedia article you edited, and you were not logged in to this account when you made the edit.) An explanation is given at User_talk:Dhollm. If you haven't already read it then I suggest doing so. It is not clear to me that your edit was spam, so I have restored it. Please feel welcome to contact me on my talk page if you have any further questions about this. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:35, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for everyone's help! Someone was actually able to point me to the most appropriate page to place this information as there doesn't seem to be a page created specific to linear motion guide wheel technology! Help is much appreciated. GortGetsGoing (talk) 16:40, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
