Linking dates

- No, you've done nothing wrong at all really! Linking dates is still a contentious issue but I'll give you a brief summary: Generally, the reason why dates are wikilinked is not because they link to a relevant article, but rather they enable "autoformatting". This means that if you have activated autoformatting a linked date will change from (for example) "10 February 2009" to "February 10, 2009", or vice versa. Some linked dates do provide information,but most of the date articles tend to be a list of events of moderate and unrelated importance. Read more here if you want.
- Whether dates are linked can be a very subjective issue, as you can see I don't care much for it but there are other users who disagree with me. Sadly it is one of the more yawnsome problems that Wikipedia people spend their time arguing about. My rule of thumb is: link it if it seems the linked article will provide some useful information.
