The article A Second War (novel) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet criteria of WP:NBOOK.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The reason I nominated this page for deletion is that you reveal a lot of personal information. This information could be used by somebody with bad intentions. It's OK to talk about yourself, but when you are so young you have to be careful about what you tell people. I don't mean to scare you, and I think you are very intelligent, but I want to make sure that there is no chance of anything bad happening. ... discospinster talk 17:51, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See also Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. Also, bear in mind that using Wikipedia as a social networking site or for self-promotion is contrary to the goals of this project and is not tolerated. MER-C 04:30, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User page deleted

Hi, Gil. I am an administrator here, and I have reluctantly decided that it would be best to delete your user page. I was reluctant because it was a very well-prepared and presented page, but as explained in the Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors page you were referred to above, it is unwise for young people to reveal too much about themselves on the internet.

Also, even for an older user, that sort of information is not what Wikipedia user pages are meant for. The policy on WP:User pages includes:

Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal website. Your user page is about you as a Wikipedian, and pages in your user space should be used as part of your efforts to contribute to the project.

I hope you will not be discouraged, and will continue to contribute. Read the WP:Five pillars, the WP:Introduction and the guide to writing WP:Your first article for more about Wikipedia; it's also worth reading the (rather long) list of WP:What Wikipedia is not, and the WP:List of bad article ideas.

Your edits

I have deleted your user page again. Wikipedia is not the place to promote yourself or your book. If you would like to make contributions to the encyclopedia then you are welcome, but if you continue to edit in this way then you could be blocked. ... discospinster talk 22:35, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gilbert Martinez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. E. Fokker (talk) 01:48, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Gilbert Martinez (character), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

FYI conflict of interest guideline

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:24, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for using Wikipedia only as a web host to write about yourself and your books. Despite many warnings and explanations, it is now clear that you are not here to help build an encyclopedia. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
