A tag has been placed on File:Department of Management.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You (or I) cannot prove (within WP) that the image on facebook belongs to yourself. As you may realise, WP users-names are efficiently anonymous - we cannot link a real person to the user name. Therefore any image that existed prior to being uploaded here can only be treated as a copyright violation. To use the image you will have to read WP:DCM - which shows you two choices (a) Apply a notice of "the image being CC-BY-SA 3.0" on the face book page OR (b) sending in WP:CONSENT to the WP:OTRS team. The image is currently deleted, but providing either of the above is done, then it can be undeleted in seconds.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:40, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation

Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Hi! I rejected the article as it talks too much about the classes held, and too little about the dept., and too much about what degrees it offers. All subjects in Wikipedia needs to be notable, and this articles doesn't say anything as to why this dept. is notable at all. Simply existing isn't enough, and being part of a notable University or College doesn't automatically make this dept. notable. The article should be rewritten and should focus on the history of the dept., and should mention some of the most important graduates, although I suspect that this would fit better within the article on DePaul University.
As for the sources, please read WP:RS for more information on how to identify good sources. All the current inline references are for webpages run by DePaul with the exception of the two first. Neither of those establish any notability for this dept. The links listed under References are either lists of top colleges (which lists the business scool, but not this dept in particular), webpages run by DePaul, or articles about promising career choices, which may be related to what this dept. offers, but make no mention of it.
For this article to be accepted, you need to write more about the dept (not just what degrees it offers) and more on the history and development. But first of all, you need to find two good sources that goes in-depth on this particular department in order to establish notability. Without notability, there can be no article, so having this is critical. I wish you all the best, and feel free to ask if you have any further questions. Hi! I'm afraid that the article can't be published, as it hasn't been improved since my last visit. All you've done with it is to remove a single link[1]; the issues regarding references has not been addressed at all. And please use mye talk page when asking me things, and not my archive (as I'm less likely to see anything there). Bjelleklang - talk 09:11, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Using the existing references to support the existing information is ok, but none of the existing references establish notability. Without notability, there can be no article as simply existing isn't enough. Please provide at least a few in-depth references that says something of the impact the school has. Simply providing lists such as this isn't regarded as enough. Bjelleklang - talk 16:54, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that references need to be independent to the subject when you want to establish notability. All the links you added point to newsroom.depaul.edu, so they can't be used for notability purposes. Please read WP:RS and WP:ORG for more information on identifying reliable sources and the inclusion criteria for organizations. Bjelleklang - talk 08:35, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, here it goes. Note that the issue is notability, so I've only evaluated the references in this regard.

  • The first link only says that the University is old, and amongst the first 10 business colleges in the US. It doesn't do anything regarding the notability of this specific dept.
  • The next two links are self-published by DePaul, and has no relevance when it comes to notability.
  • The education-portal.com and chicagobusiness.com articles mention the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, but not the Driehaus College of Business which contains the Dept. of Management as far as I understand.
  • The two links on princetonreview.com and entrepreneur.com is possibly your best bet. None of them establish notability by themself, but they might help if you can find additional coverage (not just additional rankings, but actual articles).
  • The remainder of the links are self-published, and doesn't count for notability.

Currently you might be better off by merging some of the information into the existing article on DePaul University, unless you're able to find additional independent in-depth references. There are no specific notability criterias for schools, so the the primary criteria is WP:GNG, with additional criteria found in WP:ORG. Basically you need to find references that deal in-depth with this specific dept, not DePaul as a whole, or Driehaus CoB. If you can't find sources, an alternative might be to write an article about Driehaus College of Business instead, and merge some of the information from this article into it. Let me know if I can be of more assistance :) Bjelleklang - talk 10:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
