Blackpink GA review

Hello, thank you for deciding to review the GAN for Blackpink. However, it seems that you are a somewhat new editor here with less than 15 edits, and you do not seem to have much experience in writing articles or content creation. I am uncertain about your familiarity with the criteria for good articles, particularly when it comes to reviewing high-profile articles such as Blackpink. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 11:24, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

Hi, you may want to edit your signature (as displayed at Talk:Ebrahim Raisi, I'm not sure if you've changed it in the meantime) as it is currently practically unreadable. The background colour you have picked is very close to the colour used for links and so produces this: Garef. A small tweak to make the text white or another lighter colour would make a big difference, e.g.:

 • <span style="background-color:blue;color:white">Garef</span> would produce Garef
 • <span style="background-color:blue;color:yellow">Garef</span> would produce Garef
 • <span style="background-color:blue;color:cyan">Garef</span> would produce Garef

This is just a suggestion which would make it easier for other editors to identify you on talk pages. If you prefer to keep your signature as it is, that's fine too (although it may be going against the policy at WP:SIGAPP, specifically to make sure signatures are readable by people with colour blindness). Thank you for your suggestion. I will change my signature, but how do I use specific hex colour codes (e.g. #00ffaa) in the appropriate formatting to apply to this? Garef 04:06, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just replace the colour name with the hex code, like this:
 • <span style="background-color:#0000FF;color:#00FFAA">Hello world!</span> → Hello world!
Remember to include the #, otherwise it reverts to the default colour. Adam Black tc 04:13, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have altered my signature as wished.
However, in the example you have given in the immediately above message, the HTML code shown has "background-color" equal to the hex value, while the displayed has its text color, not the background color, changed. Just pointing out this tiny error here.
Any chance you might know why wikipedia doesn't show certain text colours or fonts like the other ones I'm using? Thanks. Garethphua (言) 14:51, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sorry the text colours are okay, just an error i made, but idk how some fonts like Caveat1 don't show?
Also i dont know how to use foreign links in text, please help. Garethphua (言) 14:56, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The font will only display if you have it installed on your operating system, otherwise it will display as the browser or website default. It was just displaying for me in the default font, but after downloading and installing Caveat (and restarting my browser) I now see your signature in the correct font. You may like to select one of the built in Windows fonts instead as most of these will be shared by the vast majority of editors, otherwise you can leave it as is and anyone who doesn't have Caveat installed will see your signature in the default font.
I'm not sure what you mean by foreign links. Do you mean links to other websites, links to Wikipedia in other languages, or something else?
For links to other websites, use a single square bracket, [, followed by the URL, then a space and then the text you want to display with a closing square bracket, ], like this:
For links to Wikipedia in other languages, use two square brackets, , followed by :code: where code is the language code for that project (e.g. ar for Arabic, nl for Dutch, sv for Swedish, etc.), then the name of the page on that project with two closing square brackets, , like this:
 • Adam Black → Adam Black
 • Adam Black → Adam Black
 • Adam Black → Adam Black
You can also use this to link to other Wikimedia projects like Wikimedia Commons and Wiktionary:
 • Adam Black → Adam Black
If this isn't what you meant, just let me know and I'll do my best to help. Note that, generally, links to other Wikimedia projects (such as your uploads on Commons) are okay in your signature as long as you also include a link to your en user, talk or contributions page, but external links are not allowed in signatures (WP:SIG#EL). It's also worth noting that signatures have a character limit of 255 characters. Adam Black tc 15:29, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
