UAA

Please read the username policy before submitting to UAA.

In particular, because Wikipedia is a multinational, multilingual project (usernames can be shared among all languages of Wikipedia), do not list people to be blocked just because their username is not in English. rspεεr (talk) 02:03, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

I did not specifically state to block the user. I would've thought an administrator would discuss with the user, not outright block them. Do not make assumptions. --   GameShowKidtalkevidence   02:05, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
You've misunderstood what WP:UAA is for, then. It's for requesting blocks due to blatant username violations, like the instructions on the page say. Discussion does not require admin powers, so you don't need to involve UAA. But I don't see much of a need for discussion. rspεεr (talk) 02:11, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Also of note, the policy does state that users who use non-Latin characters in their username should translate their username in signature format so English users have a way of addressing the user. Such a request would sound better coming from someone who is an administrator rather than a normal user. --   GameShowKidtalkevidence   02:07, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Administrators aren't there to be the "voice of authority", they're there to carry out certain restricted actions. Anyway, if you want to ask this user to follow the recommendation that they have a Latin-alphabet signature, go ahead. But please don't say it in a way that implies they've done something wrong just by being named in Chinese. rspεεr (talk) 02:11, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

GMA Fan

Man, he's such a persistent little blood clot. I've seen your report recently regarding User:GMAproudtobeKapuso, which is obviously a sock of none other than GMA Fan. This made me think more about throwing him in exile at the Hollywood Tower Hotel and have Ms. Partridge shove him in the pit of death... Seriously. scaredy camp

Hi, Thanks for your into re: Scaredy camp. If you have seen an entire episode, the credits say "created by Liz Becker". This can be seen not only on the pilot but on the other episodes. Jim Steele (talk) 21:02, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

However, the entry needs a reliable source. Please see WP:OR and WP:RELIABLE. -- GSK (talkevidence) 21:24, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

PS3 slim userbox

Hello. With your userbox User:GSK/120 GB PS3, could you not use an actual image of the slim PS3? File:Ps3-slim-3.jpg looks okay to use. Just noticed while browsing the Userboxes. Darth Newdar talk 09:12, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Apologies. I created it in a hurry and didn't pay much attention to the image at the time. -- GSK (talkevidence) 17:29, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Blurring software

How you use the blurring software to blur my screenshot of my Messenger's personal info? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blubbermarble (talkcontribs) 19:29, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

I used the free imaging software Paint.NET to select certain areas of the image, then I applied a Gaussian Blur effect. -- GSK (talkevidence) 03:18, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for info

Hi,

Thank you for the information on properly correcting my entry. Could you please re-check it to see if I did it properly.

Thank you, FilmResearcher (talk) 01:57, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

As an image not likely to be useful in any articles, that logo shouldn't be uploaded to Wikipedia proper. It should instead be uploaded to Commons and linked through the existing template.

I figure, hey, {{db-author}} is usually faster than WP:FFD, and if you change the template before removing the version on WP, your userpage's appearance won't change. --King Öomie 17:12, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

I'll take a look at that. It'll be my first upload to Commons, so apologies if it's not completed immediately. -- GSK (talkevidence) 17:25, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
It's not a major problem. It's just that Wikipedia is rather stringent with its bandwidth. WP:NOTWEBHOST is a large part of what allows the site to qualify for many of the grants that keep it going. --King Öomie 06:07, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
