Just wanted to drop you a note saying that I have certainly seen discussions and complaints about vested contributors before. I had just never clicked through to read the page at MeatballWiki. Dealing with them and more generally with the tension between supporting those who have made an effort to improve the encyclopedia and creating a hierarchy in which some users are "more equall than others" is a difficult area on Wikipedia, as in many groups. I value precision in language and want to make clear if I am referring to the specific issue raised by [1] or another, possibly related problem. Thanks, by the way, for your support.
