Feedback on Preliminary Bibliography

Hi, GGRiehl! You show a solid grasp of MLA bibliographic citation in this prelim bib. Just a few fine points. Your JSTOR URLs are great, but you have one URL (for EBSCO) that includes info that would be only useful to you (i.e. Brooklyn College proxy server). Although not every database offers something as helpful as a stable URL, try to edit the URLs and see if you can delete the user-specific info. Experiment until you find the most streamlined address. When all else fails, just include the main URL for the company, i.e. www.ebscohost.com It's great that you were able to find DOIs for some of your sources -- thereby eliminating the need for a URL at all. The only other thing I noticed is also small: MLA requires that you abbreviate the words "university" and "press" in publishers' names, e.g. U of Michigan P, Oxford UP, Harvard UP, etc. Thanks and let me know if you have any Qs! The Origins and History section is very detailed and thorough and very impressive with the amount of content. The works cited is also incredibly impressive but I haven’t seen yet where it will be implemented although I assume in the sections that have yet to be filled in. I can see that you have improved the structure and are planning to add more content which will be a great improvement to the article as a whole. While the origins and history is very thorough, it is oftentimes a little difficult to understand. I would suggest using simpler language so the common reader may have a better understanding of the Autos Sacramentales. The most important thing I can see is to fill in the rest of the sections to really make this a well rounded and well researched article. And then citing these sources with the incredibly robust work cited you have already created. But overall the article layout is really impressive and I can’t wait to see what it will look like when finished! Well done!--Jlingreen (talk) 18:27, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on Preliminary Bibliography (spring 2018)

Hi, GGRiehl! Thanks for posting your prelim bib, even though it was a bit late. In general, you've done a good job, but remember that it's best to include access dates for materials that you found online -- for guidance, see https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/08/ Question: why is a city and state listed in your last citation (YouTube video)? Finally, I'm a bit worried that all of these are online sources. I hope you plan to consult books and journal articles as well? Those will strengthen the quality of your research -- and therefore the quality of your Wikipedia article -- significantly. Let me know if you need help finding books and articles using our library's resources. Happy writing! Amy E Hughes (talk) 20:43, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
