Deletion of Swecha

Hi [User:FreeRangeFrog],

You´ve deleted the page [Swecha], showing copyright infringement as your reason for deletion.

[ 06:16, 15 July 2014 FreeRangeFrog (talk | contribs) deleted page Swecha (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.swecha.org/content/about-swecha) ] This is gentle reminder to recheck the copyright status of the page, as it is published in Creative Commons 4.0 Licence now ! Can it be republished now ? Respond ASAP, hope to hear from you soon !!! Ranjithraj 11:35, 5 August 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ranjithraj (talkcontribs)

I distinctly remember looking at the front page of that website in response to a comment in the talk page and seeing "Copyright..." at the bottom, which is why I deleted it. Let's step back for a moment from the copyright violation - I very much doubt this organization meets the notability guidelines which can end up causing the deletion in any case. But, you can re-create it if you wish. I'd rather not restore a potential copyvio and if the text comes from the website then all you need to do is paste it again. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:46, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for all your help on this! I did warn that it might be contentious didn't I? ;-)

But boy have things changed quickly with all this talk of respect and trust going on on my talk page. That's actually the second or third time someone blatantly said they feel an organization is corrupt and evil, yet we ended getting into a positive collaborative situation in spite of it. Wikipedia is an amazing place sometimes.

I have put together a stub on the Talk page and would appreciate any input. Thanks again! CorporateM (Talk) 17:42, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

@CorporateM: Will take a look and comment there. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:47, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! Once it's cleaned up a bit, I think that will make it easier to re-visit the AfD discussion. Out of the 14 sources, about 4 are primary sources and 2-3 are brief mentions or an interview, leaving about six strong sources. After the page is cleaned up a bit, I'll re-review those six and put a neutral post together RE whether the page should be renamed to Defeat Autism Now!, merged with Rimland, deleted or kept as is. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kadir Berk Kapancı

Hi. Another user removed content in the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kadir Berk Kapancı AfD discussion (diff) with the rationale (stated in the page's Revision history), "discussion infringes personal rights and could be subject to a lawsuit under Turkish law". I have restored the title and links to retain context. Since you closed the discussion, I'll leave it to you to decide if the remaining content should be restored. NorthAmerica1000 09:01, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for performing the formal courtesy blanking there. NorthAmerica1000 17:07, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
@Northamerica1000: No problem. I was about to block the account for legal threats but I suppose this will be the last we'll hear from them, so I don't think it's worth it. Thanks for the heads up. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:13, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Quincy Timberlake redux

I find I have an e-mail asking for the page to be deleted (didn't check my e-mail before work).

Also, the editor has blanked the declined unblock request again; but I believe there was recently a big to-do about whether editors can blank those, and many admins believe they should be permitted to do so. In any event, he's replaced it with a curious statement. So perhaps one of us should AfD the article, although I believe it will be kept. As the person who added the music section, I'd like to ask you to check those sources: they appear to me to be as strong as most of the sources used in the article, and I left out BLP-infringing stuff, as with other wources we have both examined; however, the editor is claiming that section is inaccurate, so please see whether you agree with my inclusion of that section.

I do believe we gave him enough warning. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:14, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

@Yngvadottir: Hey, I was the one that suggested he wasn't notable to begin with! My problem with the AFD is that I think it will be kept based on Ghits if nothing else. AFD participation is getting worse every day unless the topic happens to be very visible and I fear it will be a waste of time. But if you think it's worth it, let's do it. Regarding the music section, if I go by basic intuition I'd say it bothers them/him because of the apparent questions about the subject's early life. With that said, I really have no objection to that being removed. In reality many of the sources in that article were iffy to begin with, because the guy's notability is tabloid-ish as it is. If anything the article is still doing him a favor. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:28, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes. I don't want to AfD it because I believe it would be a waste of everybody's time - even if we nominate it as a proxy for him. I would have to vote "weak keep", for instance; I think the guy meets GNG. I put in the music section because historically that claim had been made in the article, and I did find sources; if the article is kept I'd rather it still have that section for completeness' sake with respect to the sources that are out there. With only a couple of exceptions (such as his wife's concern for people's everyday lives in her radio work), I think we now have an article that reflects the sources without repeating allegations. If there are less tabloidish Kenyan newspapers, it would be nice to rely more heavily on those, but we also have a quite respectable radio station in there. She's probably more notable, but I don't believe that rules out our also having an article on him. And at this point the conflicts between his article and Hellon's have been minimised, because we've both been taking care to support everything. And I don't believe either article violates BLP, which has of course been a major concern. It doesn't look as though he's going to make another unblock request, so I am thinking of moving his message to the bottom of the page and responding to it suggesting that if he has independent sources - not statements from the guy's lawyer or the guy himself - that demonstrate the music section or any other part of the current article to be false, he should put them there on his talk page. Who knows, he may have some. And pointing out to him that the unblock template contains the instructions for making another unblock request, and if he decides he wants to, he should look in the history for that. Does that sound fair? Or would you rather respond yourself, as blocking admin? Parts of that statement he made, I don't even follow - have you looked at it?? Yngvadottir (talk) 18:01, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
@Yngvadottir: I think we are in agreement regarding the content, yes. As it stands now, we have the article we can have given the available sources. re the unblock request, that sounds good, especially since I originally blocked. I think the level of English proficiency is too low compared to the way the article was written. Perhaps the person behind the account was being provided with the material by someone else (likely the subject). You can try and ask if they have other sources (it never occurred to me that there might be sources in other languages, like maybe Swahili), and perhaps we can use those instead. Otherwise like I said before, I wouldn't mind simply removing that section and the musician mention in the lede. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:10, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
OK, have left my response, pinging you. I don't want to speculate about who wrote what, I really don't. BLP issues, for one thing, plus he's already blocked and seems to have given up on the unblock template. Sigh. I will write her up after I clear a couple more tasks off my plate, unless someone else does first. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:33, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Good frog

I see your name pop up with admin options on my watchlist from time to time. Looks like you are doing a good job. But with the responsibility comes complaints, as the sections above demonstrate. Try not to let them bring you down and avoid kissing any princesses, lest they turn you into an a-hole. I'm happy with you as a frog. Two kinds of pork (talk) 00:14, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

@Two kinds of pork: Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate them very much. And yeah, the complaints pretty much come with the territory. Hopefully they'll never be about me actually screwing up §FreeRangeFrogcroak 02:19, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Thepublicblogger

I have looked at and noted the reasons you've deleted this page shortly after it was posted. The article is written from a point of neutrality as it is not intended to promote or advertise the blog. I am going to add a section of why it is important.

Do you have any specific reasons as to why you see it was for promotion or advertising, that you can point out in the text?

If you don't, then I will recreate the page and add a section with it's importance/significance in the article.

Best. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:1:2380:132:140F:FDD0:C5AB:4F30 (talk) 19:29, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

The entire article was written in a promotional and inappropriate tone. Wikipedia is not a listing of websites and businesses, and aside from asserting a measure of minimal importance to avoid being speedily deleted, topics must meet the notability guidelines. Furthermore, I assume you are associated with the website in question, so you will want to read this before you do anything else around here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:35, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

FreeRangeFrog,

I will add the importance to the article and re-submit it. Please drop links that will help me add a more neutral tone of voice to the article; again, it wasn't written to promote or market this website. It's very important for the blogging world, as he's done and doing things that have never been done online before. There is no conflict of interest as I am not a paid contributor. Deleted page - Silverray123

Hey FreeRangeFrog,

I saw today that you deleted the article I started working on yesterday. It is about a real Israeli progressive metal band Stormy Atmosphere, with real facts that have proofs and not some kind of an advertisement. I didn't have enough time to finish it yesterday, there are pictures, links and references to be placed, and probably something is done wrong by me, but it's my first article in wiki, I'm not experienced enough... I only ask for an ability not to start from scratch, but to continue editing the page I've started creating from the point I stopped yesterday. I'm sure you understand the situation and hope to get a second chance.

Thank you in advance,

Silverray — Preceding unsigned comment added by Silverray123 (talkcontribs) 05:18, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

@Silverray123: There are two problems here. One, you created an article on a userpage. That's not allowed. So regardless of the topic's merits, you should have used a sandbox or the draft namespace. Second, articles like those are kept depending on whether they meet the notability guidelines for inclusion, as detailed here. If you can prove that the band in question meets at least one of those points, I'll restore the content for you to work on. Please provide proof that there is significant coverage by reliable sources independent of the band itself. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 07:07, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Dear FreeRangeFrog,

Right, I saved the article in a wrong place. Planned to fix it of course, but didn't have time yesterday to get to 5he PC... Truly sorry for that, I'm still learning.

Here are some links to indipendent sources, that review the band and its activity within Israel and internationally: (I also have a scanned review of the band from "The Fireworks" magazine, but don't know how to send it here. If you like to see it, I'll be happy to send it to you, just please explain me how :) )

1. http://www.metalist.co.il/AlbumReviewPrivate.asp?id=1183 It's a famous Israeli metal webzine, that has an official album review on the bands' first album.

2. http://tal.dreamtheater.co.il/albums/stormy-atmosphere-colorblind.php Another review by Israeli official Dream Theater independent blog.
3. http://rateyourmusic.com/list/dtguitarfan/my_best_to_worst_of_prog_and_metal_2009/ It's an independent progressive album rating chart from 2009 that rates the bands' album 48 out of 100 prog albums released globally in that year.
4. http://www.progressor.net/review/stormy_atmosphere_2012.html Official bands' album review by the "MALS" distribution label company, the band is signed there.
5. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6429 Bands' review from international progressive music website.
6. http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=13784 Another progressive music page that reviews the band.
7. There is a printscreen of an official Israeli news website "Y-net" page from 2012, that reviews the bands' participation in "Metal Battle" international contest back then. Can send it to you with the scanned review of "The Fireworks" magazine mentioned before, if needed.
8. The band has official Facebook and MySpace pages for years, you can see from posts there that it has fans in Korea, Germany, South America, except Israel.
9. Stormy Atmosphere members were guests on Israeli radio stations few times, a month ago they were on TV, there's a video from "Good Morning Israel" TV-show, where they tell about a new album, which will be released this month: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHbQKdfVq0I .

I hope this info is enough. Thank you very much for your time. It's an honor to be one of Wikipedia writers, I hope to get better in this with a time and avoid such misunderstandings in my future articles.

Truly yours,

The existence of one or more authority control records is usually evidence that the subject is notable. When in doubt, usually the Village Pump is a good place to ask. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:09, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Centre HiFi

I will be recreating the page for Centre HiFi unless you have reason not to. I've updated the information to include to:

Centre Hi-Fi is a retailer of consumer electronics in Canada founded in 1984. As of January 2014, the company has a total of 27 retail locations in the province of Quebec, with its corporate headquarters located in Montreal. A locally owned and operated business for 30 years, Montrealers liken the success of Centre Hifi against American corporations such as Best Buy, Future Shop, Costco and Walmart to the city's own identity and autonomy battle with the rest of the English speaking country.

There's no reason this cultural retailer should not be on Wikipedia. There's a reason we call it Centre Hifi and not Hifi Center.

Subscript text Zackaryas (talk) 22:31, 13 August 2014 (UTC) Stolen and missing moon rocks

Hello!

I am Zackaryas. I want to say that I agree with your opinion, regarding my response on Counterfeit rocks (Texas); his reasons agree as set forth in Db-u5. Rarely I find a person ready to hold an intelligent conversation, and also has very high ethicos concepts and self-respect as,to consider the truth above their personal convictions. . Usually when people do not meet these conditions, I do not talk with them and I contact the upper level. All right. I want to ask you that aticulo referring, in which quotes my name is cleared without delay. I argue that the reasons for this are: 1) Mr. Gutheinz, does not meet the necessary knowledge to make these claims. (Although in reality he said otherwise.) 2) This article qualify me as a scammer. This accusation does not have any support; I'm still waiting to be charged for that reason. (Nothing would make me happier.) 3) Therefore, this article attempting to damage my good name. 4) NASA never ordered eBay remove my ad ; even you, can see it in: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apollo-11-Moon-rock-Dust-meteorite-0-02-grams-approx-/191279122486?ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123 5) As you can see this whole article is a farce, so, this post meets the conditions for removal, under the "Criteria for redaction" (2). But if what is written there, it can be considered as "mere factual statements ..." then my statements also must be considered in the same way. Best regards

Sorry, I'm not sure what it is that you're saying. If you mean why your sandbox was deleted, it's because it was an inappropriate use of Wikipedia. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 01:46, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for your quick action on Talk:Brian Witzberger and for noting the more appropriate criterion. Donner60 (talk) 03:15, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

@Donner60: No problem, thanks for tagging it. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 03:23, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

I was wondering if you had time to take a look at a Request Edit I posted on the Talk page back in June that has apparently gone un-answered. Mainly it's regarding a substantial profile on him that came out in Sports Illustrated. Most of the information in that profile is already included using other sources, but it's the first strong source that provided an evaluation of his sabermetrics techniques (primarily that it is very effective, but de-humanizes players). Also, the article is currently in the GA review queue, but qualifies for a quick-fail due to the orphan tag, but I am not sure that there are any articles that should genuinely link to it. CorporateM (Talk) 04:49, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

@CorporateM: Will take a look over the weekend. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 08:06, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Hey, also do you think the "Autism Research Institute" page is ready to be stubbed into a "Defeat Autism Now!" page using the draft? The discussion seems to have died down/concluded. There were lots of opposes to the original ARI proposed draft, but all supports for the revised DAN! article. (not sure that much discussion about a marginally notable org was really needed). It's been over a month since I first drew attention to the article, so I'm just getting a little irritable by the wait. I was hoping even if it was kept after the AFD that someone would axe it without my having to do the whole draft/approval song and dance ;-) CorporateM (Talk) 01:22, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
!Ping! A friendly reminder RE the Sig Mejdal Request Edit you said you would take a look at last weekend if you had a chance. If you still have a minute to take a look, let me know. CorporateM (Talk) 13:56, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
@CorporateM: Done! Remember when I say "this weekend" I mean "sometime on Wednesday" If you have some suggestions for backlinks to remove the orphan tag, let me know and I'll add some as well. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:27, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
I did a few searches for something like List of Sabermetrics professionals or Employees of the Houston Astros, but didn't find anything. CorporateM (Talk) 18:07, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
One idea might be something like adding to the Houston Astros page: "Sig Mejdal implemented the STOUT sabermetrics system (a combination of the words "scout" and "statistics") at the Houston Astros in 2012 and 2013. The system was criticized for de-humanizing players, but led to the Astro's farm system becaming ranked among the best in baseball.[1]"
I don't really like looking for plugs - feels spammy, but those dam orphan tags... CorporateM (Talk) 13:58, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

!Ping! Just checking in on this orphan tag. Hoping to avoid a quick-fail by a GA reviewer for the tag. Sorry if I am kind of annoying ;-) CorporateM (Talk) 17:52, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

@CorporateM: I'm thinking maybe more on History of the Houston Astros? Either way you need to tell me where to stick that, seriously! §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:58, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

To be honest, I wish we could just delete the Orphan tag template from Wikipedia entirely and not apply it anywhere. It promotes spam and I don't think being an orphan is really a problem. But failing that, the History of the Houston Astros page looks like the best possible place to address the orphan tag's feedback. Right here there is a "Recent history" type section for the 2000s where it could go at the end of the introductory section, before it goes into individual seasons in sub-sections. I can go do a formal Request Edit and all that if you like. CorporateM (Talk) 19:05, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
Well that feels a bit spammy but I think the history article was the best fit. Problem is it's missing the 10's seasons... which I'm not going to provide. Anyway, it's done. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 08:32, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

You have new message/s Hello. You have a new message at SmileBlueJay97's talk page.

She has an article

Esther Arunga is now blue. I have left a note on the talk page about what I left out, including something I wound up cutting from Quincy Timberlake. None of the news outlets made it easy to search for anything except the story du jour, and I wanted to let her speak for herself as much as possible but had to note one inconsistency. I also wanted to give her credit for an award for which the only source I could find is craptastic. I'd appreciate if you'd cast an eye over it from the BLP angle. I was horrified to see Google serving up my draft to me when I searched for additional sources on specific points - please remind me to noindex any future BLP drafts. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:02, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

@Yngvadottir: Very nice! Excellent work. I always thought her notability was much more real than the husband's and it definitely shows in the more fleshed-out bio. And yeah, Google is extremely aggressive with the indexing of Wikipedia. Why do you think we're such a huge spam magnet I have it in my watchlist, will keep an eye on it. And I added the slide # to the Chat Awards ref. I agree it's a crappy source but the awards seem notable and serious. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:47, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
Good, thanks! I did search Swahili Wikipedia, by the way, after noting one two-line article published in Swahili by one of our newspaper sources - nothing there, nothing else in Swahili coming up on Google, but that of course doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I believe I am one of Google's more puzzling users; they may well be trying to restrict the number of languages they show me, even if stuff is online. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:00, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

He is a professional football player, he played in youth Lille OSC academy. following all references I have :

So I agree that i made this page in wrong way in first time but there is one way to repair this or to re-create this page please ? Thanks, Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Impomus (talkcontribs) 13:51, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

As it was mentioned here, the article was deleted by consensus because he did not meet the relevant inclusion guidelines. It's been a couple of weeks, did he suddenly meet them? If so, please create a request here. It has nothing to do with how the page was created, the basic requirement is that players must have played at least one game for a fully-professional league. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:28, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

The article is already completed and states a claim of notability (he is the founder of 3 notable companies) and has sources from Business Journals, Wall Street Journal, and Daily Finance. While some of the references speak more about his company than him, the majority of the references go into depth about him. Please advise what I need to do to have the page created. Thanks. --StevieSchm (talk) 03:52, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

@StevieSchm: Given the number of times this was deleted (including for copyright violations) and the fact that I assume you have a conflict of interest, I've placed a submission banner at the top of your draft. Please get that reviewed and approved by an AFC volunteer, and then let me know and I'll unprotect (or if I'm not available, you can request here). If indeed you have a conflict of interest, that should have been the way to go with the company article you created as well. See WP:PSCOI for examples of how to disclose your relationship to article subjects. Either way an independent review is a good idea. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:27, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. Was not sure how to proceed. Also, no assumption needs to be made, I have used the website multiple times. I don't really have a conflict of interest as described in the guideline you point out, but can understand why you would think so as I am a new user creating a new article. I have submitted the article as you stated so that someone else can review it. Either way is fine with me. Feel free to review and change anything you feel inappropriate as well as any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for the help.--StevieSchm (talk) 18:07, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Talk page for User:Rodhose007

Hi. I was working on sorting the 'AfC submissions in userspace', and came across User:Rodhose007/Mohammad Nuruzzaman. It had been submitted, so I was going to move it to draftspace, and saw it had a talk page. Apparently Rodhose007 had originally created the draft on his actual user page, and when he moved it to WP space he moved his user talk page along with it, and when you re-sandboxed the draft you put his original talk page at User talk:Rodhose007/Mohammad Nuruzzaman. No fault of your, ofc, he did something wierd, but dunno if you think it's worth merging them back together or not. Either way, just pointing it out, not really my problem. :) Reventtalk 05:45, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

@Revent: Probably not worth merging it, no. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:18, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Here we go again...

Remember all those articles that got improperly mass nominated for CSD back in May? Well Mustafa Raza Khan just popped up as deleted for A3. I smell something rotten. You might want to have a look and see who is behind this CSD and what other articles they may have nominated and what was done to them in order to make them CSD material. Maybe there is a legitimate explanation, but I don't remember this article being even remotely A 3 material. Unfortunately I am not at home and am extremely limited for the next 24 hrs in my internet access so I am afraid I can't help much right now. -Ad Orientem (talk) 23:29, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

@Ad Orientem: Looks like that one was a valid A3 (if we go by the book at least). Could have been a G4 since it ended up at AFD. The tagger doesn't seem to have anything to do with our friend Summichum. Have you spotted any others? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 00:08, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The last few days have been a bear in the real world. So far that's the only thing that has popped up on my radar other than a few edits on the other articles most of which looked perfectly normal and routine. I don't have every one of the articles on my watch list but I do have quite a few. So yeah this is alikely a false alarm. Thanks for looking into it. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:38, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Sorry for the improper action of ProcessOn

Hi, hope you are fine. I am Mia from Beijing, I just noticed that the page of ProcessOn has been deleted, I am sorry that must be some improper actions lead to the impression of “Unambiguous advertising or promotion”. Actually ProcessOn is a non-profit start-up provides free online diagram service and updated its social network recently to benefit more. May I ask to recover this page? We will take measures to avoid the “Unambiguous advertising or promotion”. Much appreciate if you can also provide me some tips about that, thank you. Waiting for your reply.

Warm Regards, Mia Su

Please follow the instructions here. I won't restore the deleted article, because it was hopelessly and inappropriately promotional, which is what happens when people associated with the subject write about the subject. Wikipedia is not a directory of stuff - subjects must meet the notability guidelines for inclusion. If that's the case, create a draft and submit it for review at Articles for Creation. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:21, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of template:gevi

Why was this considered a test template? Why else deleting it? --George Ho (talk) 02:12, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

@George Ho: Sorry, I didn't realize that I used "G2" as criteria. The template was marked with a G11, I agreed it was being used to promote a website that is not notable, so I deleted it (now as G11). I also removed all transclusions. There's two or three porn actor external link templates already that point to online resources Wikipedia considers notable. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 02:30, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi, can you please check if the recreation of this article is a copy of the one you speedy deleted? Thank you. --NeilN talk to me 08:28, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

@NeilN: Thanks for the heads up. Apparently they didn't understand what I told them three days ago... or something. I've moved the article to the draft namespace for approval by the AFC folks. As it is right now I would have no problem deleting it as G11 again, but we'll give them a chance. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:02, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for taking care of it. --NeilN talk to me 21:07, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

steve mcelroy

Hi, are you able to review the edits I made to Steve McElroy's page today and let me know if they helped? I removed or rewrote language that I viewed as too promotional. I also tried to improved the citations. Will these changes help remove some of the warnings at the top? Thanks in advance for your guidance!

ZekiErkek (talk) 20:36, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

The warnings at the top refer to the tone of the article, not the problem with lack of notability, which is why the article is up for deletion at this time - if it is kept then the tags can be removed once the article is improved. You can also comment in the deletion discussion if you like, and you can improve the article by adding proof that the subject is truly notable. Otherwise the work is in vain because it will be deleted. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:05, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

I thought I improved the article already by removing language that had a promotional tone. Did my changes not improve anything? I really did remove and rewrite several sentences. Please advise what needs to be done in order to keep the page. Steve McElroy is a very legitimate living artist and it doesn't make sense for you to delete the page. Specific suggestions would be really helpful because everything that is included in there right now is factual information and verifiable. Thank you for your assistance once again!

ZekiErkek (talk) 21:35, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Please read what I wrote above. If something about that is not clear, let me know. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:43, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of Lazerhawk

Hey, FreeRangeFrog, I was wondering why exactly Lazerhawk was deleted without ample time to dispute a speedy deletion status. I feel as though the artist is notable enough to deserve a Wikipedia article. Udderfly (talk) 08:07, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

I was also wondering if I could have what I published back, so that I may work on it and see if I can determine if Lazerhawk is indeed notable enough. Udderfly (talk) 08:13, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

@Udderfly: Restored and moved to User:Udderfly/Lazerhawk. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:25, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Milo Medin

Milo Medin is one of the leading figures in the history of networking. He may be one of the most notable people not to have a Wikipedia article.

Since December 2010[1] Medin has been Google's VP of Access Services, better known as Google Fiber. As a scientist and executive, he played a leading role in opening the path for accessing the Internet over cable TV lines, which is how most of us (in the U.S. at least) get online today.[2][3].

Today Medin is leading Google's push to bring fiber to many cities across the U.S.[4], and to reduce regulatory red tape along the way.[5]

I hope that's enough to convince you to restore the stub. Thanks.

So... if you feel he meets WP:BIO then create an article about him that goes beyond "X works at Y", which is what was deleted because it failed to assert even minimal importance. I'd recommend using your sandbox or the Draft namespace if you want to do it in pace and tranquility, then move it to the article space. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:30, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Is there a warning for someone who makes quite a bit of BLP's with no refs?

I probably just sent about 10 BLP notices to the same person. The user seem to be around for a while (or at least a month) it appears. For example here is one of the articles Dina Fekadu, interesting enough someone patrolled these without putting up a prod ref. So was wondering if this person needs a warning or what. Thanks!

Wgolf (talk) 17:20, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

@Wgolf: Blocked for 24 hours. We don't need any more unsourced BLPs and maybe that will get their attention. Otherwise they'll end up indefinitely blocked. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:20, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks-it was getting annoying. Wgolf (talk) 18:21, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
@Wgolf: you might need to patrol the patrollers when you see things like that. User:Kudpung might be able to advise more. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 23:39, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Definitely patrol the patrollers - a paradox, I know, but it has to be done. I have spent one hour each day patrolling pages this week and never got further than 20 new pages without having to remonstrate with a patroller. This week alone I have asked three users to stop patrolling pages completely until they have read the instructions and got more than three weeks and 200 edits under their belts.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:59, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Attention

I love your froggy style mr. FreeRangeFrog! Sir see This revert to unsourced Autobiography of an unremarkable person, which differs from this notable person. Your opinion and discreation will be helpful. Cheers Wikicology (talk) 23:09, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

@Wikicology: what is "discreation", please? I cannot find it in my dictionary. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 23:36, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
@Wikicology: Anyone except the article creator can remove a speedy deletion tag. In this case the revert of the author's removal is OK, but the speedy was subsequently contested by Hullaballoo Wolfowitz, so at that point you leave it alone and decide if you want to take it to AFD. And they are two obviously different persons, Muhammad_Iqbal is a historical figure. I would disagree that the article makes a valid claim of importance, but the removal of the speedy tag is appropriate if we go by the book. So AFD is your next step if you feel the bio merits deletion. This is not about opinion or discretion, but rather about how the deletion policy works. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:39, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
thank you sir @FreeRangeFrog:.

Demiurge that's not a useful comment. No human is above mistake. the use of Discreation instead of Discretion is a minor error you can easily correct which reduced the stress of searching your dictionary.Nonetheless, thanks for your correction. Wikicology (talk) 23:54, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

It is a useful comment because if I put the word "discretion" into that sentence, it is completely unclear what (if anything) you are asking for by using that word. I thus genuinely had no idea what word or idea you intended to use. Kindly preview your comments before posting them. Thank you. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 00:44, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi FRF. I hope you don't mind but I have extended your block from 24 hours to 5 days. The user usually goes on an editing spree about every 4 or 5 days and would probably not even notice they have been blocked in the meantime for only 24 hours, so a short block would have lost its impact. Feel free to revert my extension if you don't agree. Cheers, --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:18, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Vjchethan First of all always leave a signature with the four tides at the end of every comment on a talk page. Don't copy anything directly from a website. Write it in your own language. You said you want to publish the article on behalf of IBC World News. If I may ask you, what is the relationship between you and IBC World News?. Wikicology (talk) 08:14, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
@Vjchethan: The way this works is you follow the instructions here, since you have a conflict of interest. Specifically, you should not be creating the article directly. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:08, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on User talk:Hescoindia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 20:41, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

HKNet

Hi FreeRangeFrog, My name is Gary and I am using Dtrident as my nickname in Wikipedia. I am writing to see if we could have a discussion regarding the draft of “HKNet”. HKNet has a long company history and it is one of the major ISPs in Hong Kong as well. The information on the previous HKNet page was outdated and not accurate enough. I think it would be a good idea to share with the public some correct features and figures and that make me initiate the writing. Unfortunately, the page was deleted completely and there is no way to build up it currently. I truly think the company deserves a page for people referencing. Please kindly advise what I should do to retrieve the page. Many thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Dtrident (talk) 03:05, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Please follow the instructions here. That applies to all your contributions, and especially to creating articles. HKNet was deleted as a blatant advertisement, which is why we prefer that people associated with the subject don't write directly about the subject. "Sharing information" or "informing" people is not the purpose of articles about companies, but rather to document their already existing notability. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:35, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
Dtrident first of all learn to give a new disccussion a new topic, below the existing topic. I will forgive your mistake above. I had fixed it.

Since you had demanded for an advice, my advice for you are (1) kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your company is notable and write about it here. (2) go back to the company that you don't have an idea of what wikipedia is all about.Wikicology (talk) 08:08, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

I was curious what you think about this AfD discussion. The primary reason for deletion seems to be a suspicion that the sources I used do not actually exist, since they are not available online. I have uploaded them to DropBox and provided a link to the PDF image of the newspaper profiles. I am concerned the AfD will be closed soon without anyone looking at the references I have provided and validating that they do in fact exist ;-) CorporateM (Talk) 18:13, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

This looks rather like canvassing, c'mon. Going to pass. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:37, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
CorporateM, FreeRangeFrog is on vacation, he will be back by september 2. But I describe your motive here as WP:canvassing. You actually shoot yourself at the foot with your message here. If the subject is notable, without any bias it will be kept, based on the consensus reached by the community members. Am uncertain with the subject notability without online reliable published sources. Wikicology (talk) 19:06, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Arick Village,TX

Hello Mr. Frog, I am the person that created the Google maps town/wiki page on Arick Village, TX (not Villiage). You see, at the time back in 2011, I was on a deployment in Afghanistan working 24 hours on, 24 off for a year. So, to combat my boredom (on my days off) I took on this 'project.' I agree, the information is misleading and incorrect. I did not realize this area was actually populated and would create a minor inconvenience for the tiny population of Terlingua Ranch, TX. I appreciate the work you put into this "investigation," but the mystery is solved. If you can delete it, please do. However, I do feel fraud is a strong word. Let’s leave that for the thieves shall we? I was not breaking any laws to my knowledge, and if I was...well, those would be some pretty dumb laws. I do promise, that this will not happen again. Good day Leapy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Higgie1989 (talkcontribs) 01:44, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

If I remember correctly someone wrote to OTRS asking this be taken down because it was a fraud, but never gave enough valid reasons as to why the place supposedly does not exist. I don't doubt what you're telling me, but Wikipedia operates on a principle of implied notability, and that's especially true for named geographical locations (we are after all an encyclopedia). You need to nominate the article for deletion and prove Arick does not exist. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:43, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

@Yngvadottir: Heh. It's like with all the other sources... Maybe wait until an Australian source with some more credibility covers that angle? I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing more of this. On the other hand again, just considering the sources currently there I don't necessarily see this one as particularly worse. Just curious, officially, was this page deleted due to *one* of

  • The fact that the page under this title had previously been deleted and it had been recreated
  • The fact that it was created by a puppet of Malusia22
  • The fact that it was a copy of a deleted article at Sindikatu

or more than one of the reasons above? Just trying to find the best solution for when it is created *again*.Naraht (talk) 17:47, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

@Naraht: All of the above I was familiar with this and Malusia even before I was an admin, and I had the page in my watchlist, so that's why I saw it quickly. If it appears again the standard procedure is to block the account(s) and then delete as G4 and/or G5. Eventually they'll get tired of it I suppose. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:57, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Hey Frog,

Had created the page for Prakash Iyer last night with references and citations.

Saw the page deleted in the morning saying 'The article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject'

Well, he's an established motivational speaker and author as well as being a ex-CEO of 3 Fortune 500 companies.

Please let me know what I can do to rectify this problem.

Looking to hear from you soon. Regards. Iamsexified (talk) 14:10, 5 September 2014 (UTC)iamsexified P.S : Your vacation responder message is still on saying 'You are on leave till Sept 2.' — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamsexified (talkcontribs) 07:57, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

@Iamsexified: You did not create the article, someone else did. It was deleted because the article indeed did not make a valid assertion of importance. What you're telling me here and what was evidenced in the article are two different things. Beyond that initial requirement for basic importance, subjects must also meet the notability guidelines for inclusion. That said, if you have a conflict of interest as detailed here then the correct course of action is to continue working on your existing draft and then submit for approval. Either way, a review is probably a good idea since it will prevent the article from being outright deleted again. And what you have in that draft is just slightly better than what was in the deleted article so I wouldn't see the point in restoring it. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:20, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

best cigar prices page

Thanks for the feedback, however I want to stress that it was not promotional at all. I just literally wanted to describe a notable company in the Hazleton,_Pennsylvania area. The firm moved from New York to Pennsylvania and brought quite a few jobs with them. It's notable if just for that. I ask you to reconsider the deletion. I am 1000% open to making content edits to it if that was the problem. I took great care to cite with 3ed party sources anything that was stated within the short Wikipedia Entry, however I will do anything you deem is necessary to include it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wehberf (talkcontribs) 20:04, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

You figure "best cigar prices" was an appropriate title? Because it was certainly not. Please review the guidelines for inclusion of company subjects. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:12, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

The problem is that's the name of the division, the parent company is New Global Marketing. I can make that the title no problem? I have no problem with that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wehberf (talkcontribs) 12:30, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

So you had two sources, one of which was primary (the company's website). That's not enough to pass WP:CORP on a good day. If you feel the company meets those requirements, then my advice would be to create a draft and submit it for review to WP:AFC. Remember that Wikipedia is not the yellow pages. Simply because a company exists doesn't mean it merits an article here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:14, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Achromatik page deletion.

I don't see why it's fair for you to determine whether something is relevant enough. The artist provided has worked with multiple of your "important" artists, performed for multiple "important" artists for large crowds and has over 50,000 views on YouTube and song plays. I am curious as to why it was taken down? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FB90:1D19:ED2:CD5E:8A89:A15C:EA3E (talk) 21:01, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Notability is not inherited. The article did not make a credible assertion of importance, and beyond that the subject must meet the notability guidelines for inclusion as well. That is, you must prove that he is "important" using coverage in reliable secondary sources. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:57, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Quincy Timberlake

Hi Froggy, thanks for your message on the Quincy Timberlake edits.

May I respectfully disagree with you? First his being charged with murder is obviously quite a significant issue and the main reason people in Australia would know his name. I don't believe adding a subhead about the murder charge is giving it undue emphasis. It's quite a significant issue being charged with murder, particularly when the victim is your own 3 year old child. Much of the other information offered on the page is also questionable. A little research shows that much of what Mr. Timberlake has claimed of his career is fiction, yet many questionable facts about his alleged political career and time in Kenya remain.

I have also removed much of what was previously written under "personal life" as the great majority of it referred to his wife and her career which I am sure you will agree is irrelevant.

I have edited the page again including mention of the murder charge in the introductory paragraph.

Thanks

Thanks for the speedy deletion of the hoax Holby City (South London). What I am wondering is how 2.125.237.189 (talk · contribs), an IP editor, created it? I assumed that they were using an IP number as a username. --220 of Borg 08:08, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Why is this page deleted? Christophe Szpajdel Wiki Page

this page is of renowned logo artist Christophe Szpajdel. It is not self-promotion as the wiki admin deleted the page for.

Under this criteria, we don't delete the article because of all the $$$ the subject is reaping from it, or because it's not "authentic". We delete the article because it's inappropriately worded, unencyclopedic and promotional. Which was the case in this case. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:41, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Dear Free Range Frog, I understand that you as administrator deleted the page I created on RISHIAGAWALINDIA. Mr. Rishi Agarwal is a well know business man and a role model for many in India. so I decided to write an article on him on wiki pedia. it is not an biography on him but a motivational event based article. so please consider this as an article and approve the same. If you have any clarification on this I will be more than happy to clear them. Thank you So much for your contribution to Human kind.

Biographies must meet the requirements for inclusion, and they can't be written in a promotional tone using a userpage as you did. They also cannot be a "motivational event based article" but rather simply sourced facts about the subject. I recommend using Articles for creation instead. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:57, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

@Brainstorm76: You are yes, but first make sure he meets the notability guidelines for music-related biographies here: WP:MUSICBIO. He must meet at least one of those criteria. And of course yes, don't write the article like it's a brochure or PR material. Maintain neutrality in tone. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:23, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I figured I'd ask for your help in something: User:Gparyani has been having trouble with people vandalizing his userpage. I've set the protection to where only autoconfirmed editors can edit the page, but I don't know if there's anything else we can put on the page protection-wise. He wants to set it to where only he can edit it, but I don't think that there's a way to do that. I've got it on my watch list, but is there anything else we can do? Speedy Deletion of Cleartrip Private Limited

Hi FreeRangeFrog,

I had contributed an article on one of the popular Online Travel Agents in India "Cleartrip Private Limited" but it was Speedily Deleted. I have read the content again but couldn't figure out promotional content in it. If possible please provide examples of content that you found promotional. Based on your feedback I can rephrase / modify the content to ensure that all the Wikipedia guidelines are met. I understand that Wikipedia is not the platform for promotion of a company or product so the content was written very carefully after spending a lot of time on research and collecting references. I had included a section called "Awards and Recognition" but again references were provided.

If you feel there is some promotional content I will remove it. Like me there are other contributors willing to contribute on a regular basis but instances like speedy deletions are discouraging especially when the reason for deletion is not obvious. I request you to check the content again and suggest changes if possible. Thanks for your time.

Aaryan Sachdev (talk) 14:33, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

The entire article was a glorified brochure. The reason you "couldn't figure out promotional content" is probably because you are associated with or employed by the company, which is why we prefer people use Articles for Creation instead, as detailed in our conflict of interest guidelines. Either way, since it's difficult for you to see why the tone of the article was inappropriate, a review by a an unconnected volunteer would be recommended. Given the references you provided I think the company does meet WP:CORP, but you will want to check that before submitting. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:46, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

What I think happened was N7quan was looking at Vietnam national under-20 football team, saw all the redlinks in the roster table and decided to create articles for them. Problem is of course it's unlikely that any of them meet GNG, nevermind FOOTY. But it was likely done in good faith. No, absolutely not. First of all, the fact that the company exists or is partner with someone or has patents or whatever doesn't mean it merits an article on Wikipedia. It also does not matter what other articles there are about similar companies. There are specific notability requirements that need to be met. Second, the article was deleted because it was written inappropriately. Let me quote from the first paragraph: PassKit is a brand and platform that brings together the powers of mobile wallet and proximity marketing. Underpinned by existing scalable infrastructure, efficient processes and thought leadership, PassKit has reinforced its position in the industry. The rest wasn't much better. Wikipedia is not the place to publish press releases or PR brochures. Finally, since I assume you have a conflict of interest, you need to create a draft and submit it for review here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 02:38, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I was about to decline the G11 on that article. There may be COI issues and I'm not sure it would survive an AfD, but I don't think it was blatant spam (it was written in the third person and seemed to be factual in tone). I also considered A7, but I think there was credible claim of significance in there as well. Would you consider undeleting it? I'm off to bed, but I'll check back in the morning. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:07, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

MIchael and Marisa deletion

I respectfully want to ask you to back up some of the comments you made that lead to the deletion of Michael and Marisa's page. Can you back up your comments that say they are in the same place they were five years ago? That is absolutely not the case. Can you respect a sixteen and seventeen year old who have been offered record deals but have decided to stay in school? They are full time high school students with another full time job being a music duo in which they have been extremely successful. They are in it for the long haul and are not a greedy flash in the pan effort. They spent the last two and a half years writing and recording 25 new songs and are about to release a full CD. They play drums, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, and ukelele and they sing. Michael took a course in the production language Logic at Berklee College of Music so that he would be able to record in Boston and send files to the producer in Los Angeles to be most efficient and cost effective. You probably noticed that their songs on ""environmental issues, and anti-bulllying"" have received national attention from CNN, AOL Kids, Parents Magazine, PBS Kids and many more. Other artists "disappear" for two years to write an album, why not Michael and Marisa? They didn't disappear and did some shows while writing, just not as many and they remained spokespeople for PACER Teens against Bullying throughout. They continue to write songs with an eye toward making life better for their teen peers. They dress appropriately and are very respectful in what they do. I would think you would commend them for all of their efforts and successes. You mention the 8,000 or so subscribers on their youtube channel, but you don't mention the 2,250,000 hits on the channel. They play some covers, but there are also originals on the site. The reason there aren't more originals on the site is that the record labels do not want them out in the world until they do the promoting. Many successful artists post covers like that such as Rixton, Timeflies even Bieber started that way. Once an original song is posted, the record labels can't use it any more. You do see that "The Same" and "You Feel Like Saturday" have over 650,000 hits on them and those two are originals. We recently took some originals down at the request of the record labels so that they can release them through their channels. The comment made right above yours is absolutely correct and lists why the page should be kept alive. You can see Michael and Marisa is posted on some of your wikipedia pages like Bamboozle, and the Waiting 4 U tour pages. Now on those pages the links lead nowhere. People are curious who the acts are who played at these events. I promise you that Michael and Marisa have done a lot in the last five years, but drop out of school to run to be rock stars is not their style. Marisa is applying to college now and both Michael and Marisa's first desire is to be role models for other teens by speaking to them through their music. Even when 5,000+ people line up to meet them after a show, they stay and sign cards and post for photos with every single one of them so as not to let them down. Please excuse the mistakes made in editing, posting and trying to update the article as well as comments posted on the deletion page. Posting on Wikipedia is very tricky for the novice and Michael and Marisa should not be penalized because of adults who do such things as google how to post correctly and then get reprimanded for trying to do things correctly. I am a rule follower and googled who knows how to edit Wikipedia so that I would not make further errors posting. I did not pay anyone anything by the way, I just emailed a question and posted the response so that all would be above board and honest. I wanted to show the recommended way to rectify the problem and that I was following the recommendation. I couldn't even sign entries correctly because I couldn't find the squiggle to make the four squiggles needed before a signature. Now our page is deleted. The artist is very deserving of the page and that is very clear from their monumental accomplishments. Would you recommend and take steps for the page be reinstated? Would you research further the work they have done with A Beautiful Live Foundation? Did you know that they are working with that organization to stream live concerts into all Chilrden's Hospital's across the U.S.? Please call me so that I can further answer your questions and comments. I mean this in a very respectful way and I hope that you will take over this situation and repair the damage that has been done. Do you think that they deserve to have people google their name and then see as the second listing a deleted wikipedia page? They earned the privilege of having the page and it's just not right that it has been deleted. Thanks for taking the time to read this and if necessary research further. If it is helpful, I can send you a list of the 300 shows they have done nationwide at recognized events and venues. I can send you the Bamboozle footage or any other footage so you can see crowds in the thousands. I can't disclose what is in the pipeline, but I can certainly have the page updated to include the last few years if it is put back up. Respectfully, [redacted]— Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.176.152.255 (talk) 20:53, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

Everything you said here works against the argument that the article should have been kept, which is self-evident given the lack of verifiable coverage in what we consider to be reliable sources. You pasted something like three dozen links to the AFD and there was consensus that those were not enough. Because they're not. And they weren't in 2009 when I originally nominated the article for deletion. We have something called WP:TOOSOON which might apply in this case, I don't know. But realistically, when a topic is truly notable its AFD is generally simple and short because the evidence presented overwhelmingly proves it is truly notable. That wasn't the case here. Frankly, the level of notability you imply here and at the AFD (e.g., "300 shows" and so on) simply does not match what is available out there. And ultimately that's what we need - what we can prove. I noted my opinion on the involvement of the WikiExperts spammers as I understood it: That you asked for their help. I hope you've understood that it was a really bad idea, as were the "wow these guys are so cool" anonymous posts in the AFD. But ultimately you have two options here. One, you can take the AFD to deletion review here, where you can make the case that the closing admin made a mistake when they deleted the article. Quite honestly that's unlikely to work, but you are free to do it if you wish. Alternatively, you can simply wait until they're actually and verifiably notable. All your actions so far here boil down to wanting the Wikipedia page because it helps them, and that's not what Wikipedia is for. We don't create notability, we document it. Finally, a word of advice: You have a conflict of interest here, so if you ever decide to give it a go again, you should follow the instructions here, which includes creating a draft and submitting it for review. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:49, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
Also, if you are worried about the Google hit leading to the deleted article, note that it will eventually go away because of how Wikipedia reports deleted content to search engines. You'll want to do the same search while logged out of Google as well, since they tend to show you stuff you've visited many times. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:53, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

First I want to thank you very much for your explanation. I appreciate you taking the time to read my long email and the care you take to make sure Wikipedia is the best it can be. I am glad that you are the person who originally nominated the article for deletion because I want to satisfy exactly what you are looking for by meeting your requirements. I agree with a lot of what you are saying, however, I truly believe that Michael and Marisa are verifiably notable and I know that I have not done a good enough job of proving that to you. I would like to do better so that you and I are on the same page. Your first line says that the deletion discussion lacked verifiable coverage in what you consider to be reliable sources. There is so much that was written and done over the last 9 years and I have only scratched the surface with my many quick posts of links. I know you gave the "300 shows" as an example of not meaning anything and I agree. I can send you a list of the shows or I can select ten or so that I think you would find very notable. For instance, the Girl Scouts of America had an event to mark the 100 Years of their organization with 8,000 attendees in Los Angeles. The organization hired Michael and Marisa as their entertainment. Michael and Marisa are from Boston, but the audience in LA knew who they were from J-14, Youtube, other shows in LA before, PACER's national exposure, "The Same" being learned by schools coast to coast and I don't even know why else. My point is not that they were recognized, but that they were invited by the Girl Scouts to be the entertainment at an important milestone event. That may not be anything like what you are looking for, but there are many of these examples and I believe that I can provide what you need if you are kind enough to define it for me. Would you mind providing that to me? I know you have invested a lot of time on this page, but I would really appreciate you educating me on this and giving me the opportunity to give you what you need. There are so many shows, articles, posts, links etc. and I don't know what you define as notable or reliable or how many of these you want to see. I know I am way to wordy and over my head. I know that the old Michael and Marisa wikipedia article did read like a press release. I didn't write it. I was trying to make it more factual and intended to copy the way other like bands at their level write their pages many of which are on Wikipedia when I was shut down. I would be tremendously grateful if you would advise me as to the best way to create a draft of a new page and submit it for review. I now know that it is a BIG no no to look for someone experienced in Wikipedia editing and send them the facts and sources so that they can do the article appropriately. I didn't pay or hire anyone, but if you didn't tell me it was against the rules that would have been my next step since I had no idea that it was not allowed. I just want to do the right thing. Can you give me some direction on who should write the revised page for review and what you need to see for sources? Sorry to go around and around. I want to get to the heart of this and satisfy what you need. Many thanks!≈≈≈≈Janet — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.176.152.255 (talk) 22:03, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

It's not me you have to convince in any sense, the idea is to convince the community. Ideally in the deletion review, which you've already created. There's nothing particularly complex about proving notability, so if it exists, again, you should have no trouble doing so. Just a note about those discussions: There's a difference between the appropriateness of the admin's close of the deletion discussion, and the consensus to allow re-creation. In this case the close was correct given the arguments for deletion, what is really up for discussion is whether or not you'll be allowed to re-create it. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:25, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Greetings, FreeRangeFrog. I was hoping you might reconsider your deletion of the above article, or possibly further explain your justification for deleting it out of process. What was the problem with the sources, and what was the specific BLP violation? With respect - Kelly hi! 20:07, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi Kelly. The !votes in the AFD were quite clear about why we don't need or want this article. A speedy close is appropriate in these cases, but you can take it to WP:DRV if you disagree. Or wait until someone other than those blogs cover the supposed controversy. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:13, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
OK thanks...I believe you may have violated policy on the deletion so I will likely work up a DRV post tomorrow or Saturday. With respect - Kelly hi! 20:19, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
I've started a review discussion here - regards. Kelly hi! 08:48, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Automated Chemostat Treatment page

Hello, I posted a page about a wastewater treatment technology called Automated Chemostat Treatment. It was deleted at very great speed, before i could put in some more content

This is a genuine technology that is similar to a great list of technologies which have pages on Wiki. The only difference is that this technology was developed and is owned by a company i work for.

I posted the page as the technology is following a approach that is 180 degrees of other technologies documented in wikipedia.

Let me know if there is any point in continuing with this. Regards, Dev BPC — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dev.bpc (talkcontribs) 08:38, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Assuming you have a viable topic (and I'm not sure that's the case), you need to follow the instructions here, not creating the article yourself. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 01:07, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Mentioned on ANI

FreeRangeFrog,

You were mentioned here , no not in a bad way. This is in regard to Zambelo and his frequent BLP violating editing of this template . I've proposed a TBAN as this is his third time, he's been warned three times by yourself, myself and a third editor. He's obviously not listenening. So, your input would be appreciated in this matter. KoshVorlon Angeli i demoni kruzhyli nado mnoj 16:57, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Air Pegasus

Greetings. This is about Air Pegasus which got tagged CSD -A7 while i was asleep and was deleted before i could contest the tag. I'm not sure how it failed A7 because there were four references cited even though the subject is a startup airline that received its first aircraft last week. The airline has made many unsuccessful attempts at getting off the ground previously. Anyway, what do you advise I do about this? I could wait for a month or two until the airline gets operational (post government clearances, etc.) or you could please move it to a draftspace where i can expand the article and try and address the A7 issue. Thankyou. Trinidade (talk) 06:39, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Please re-active this page, i will share you some news of times of india and some other news papers soon, as there is not my any personal purpose to create this page, but yes, i want to share a person in india who is only one person who is creating maps for the various companies worldwide.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ambrishseo (talkcontribs) 02:02, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Absolutely not: Simarprit Singh, A Blogger, Businessman and Online Marketing king And that was just the photograph caption. You know I can look at your deleted contributions, right? I'd recommend making a draft and submitting it for review here. Good luck with that. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 02:24, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Page deletion Tony Obuh

The page Tony Obuh you deleted I need a copy of it I am currently working on improving on it all references will be added today. I am really disappointed that the page was deleted after my explanation you should have giving me some time to conclude working on it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edirin247 (talkcontribs) 05:22, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Well, you already recreated it. Make sure the subject meets WP:GNG, WP:BIO and/or WP:POLITICIAN or someone will probably nominate it for deletion. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:27, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

A copy of the previous Jeremy Bamidele has surfaced, created by User:EZRASExy (sockpuppet?). I added a CSD tag. Do you mind taking a look at it?--CaroleHenson (talk) 21:00, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

@CaroleHenson: Obvious sock was obvious so I've blocked it. As far as the draft is concerned, believe it or not there is no specific criteria under which it could be deleted, although obviously it would be pointless for it to be reviewed by AFC. Perhaps an MFD would be appropriate? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:26, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Ok, sure. I've never done an MFD, but I've pulled up the page and am sure I can figure it out. Thanks!--CaroleHenson (talk) 21:30, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
