Hello, Faster than Thunder! Having an article declined at Articles for Creation can be disappointing. If you are wondering why your article submission was declined, please post a question at the Articles for creation help desk. If you have any other questions about your editing experience, we'd love to help you at the Teahouse, a friendly space on Wikipedia where experienced editors lend a hand to help new editors like yourself! See you there! S0091 (talk) 17:11, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Faster than Thunder,

You opened two separate discussions on WP:AN for non-urgent matters, just to ask questions. This a high profile noticeboard and I think if you have questions about Wikipedia policy or how it is implemented, you should bring them to the Teahouse or go to an individual administrator's User talk page and ask them. They are not questions that need to be addressed by the entire administrator community and doing this just serves to draw attention to you. You're still a relatively new editor and I don't think it is beneficial to draw administrator attention to yourself unless you are facing a real problem, like an irresolvable conflict with another editor that could benefit from administrator intervention. I'm not telling you what to do, just letting you know that your behavior might not be perceived in a positive way. Really, the Teahouse can answer most of your questions. Thank you. Liz Read! Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give User:Faster than Thunder a different title by using the DISPLAYTITLE magic word. This functionality is for changing the formatting and presentation of the title only, and does not work to change a page's title to something meaningfully different. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else.

I have struck out the magicword to remove the error message, but feel free to revert me when you have fixed it. '' Happy Editing--IAmChaos 01:17, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

Hi. I noticed that you created Draft:Warburg (surname) using content that was copied from Warburg (disambiguation). Please note that you need to give proper attribution if you copy text from one Wikipedia page to another. You can learn more at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, specifically the "Proper attribution" section. I've already done the necessary attribution in this case (in this edit summary), but please do remember to do this on your own in the future. Not giving attribution for copied text is a copyright violation which Wikipedia takes very seriously. Bennv123 (talk) 16:42, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Giving vandalism warnings

Please do not use whatever warning the software tells you to without carefully consulting past warnings. Lina211 wasn't even vandalizing, it was just a WP:BOLD edit that ended up being incorrect. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 03:02, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am not in charge of the proxy, so I cannot disable it. Can you make me exempt from IP blocks instead by giving the role for that to me? Faster than Thunder (talk | contributions) 23:26, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would not be comfortable doing so. You've demonstrated you can edit, recently. You have not demonstrated an exceptional, compelling need to use the proxy. And a meaningful number of your edits appear somewhat problematic. Others may feel differently, though, so you are welcome to apply. WP:IPBE has the details. --Yamla (talk) 23:32, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 204.110.220.0/22. I am not in charge of the proxy, so I cannot disable it. When I try to fight vandalism at school, I unfortunately cannot. I try to make non-problematic, good-faith changes from school. At home, where I am not blocked, I can only access Wikipedia on Sundays. Faster than Thunder (talk | contributions) 18:50, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Faster than Thunder (talk | contributions) 18:50, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I found this page on Category:Requests for unblock, and although I didn't recognize you, I clicked, and read, and I figured that I'd chime in. Yes, things like this happen allll the time on school networks now. They load the computers and laptops with proxy/web monitoring services that the user of the desktop (the student) cannot alter because the means to are also blocked. Although I can't discern what your school might be running on yours, it must be similar, and I recently got IPBE for my case of this. So, is this also your case? ~ GoatLordServant(Talk) 18:57, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think so. The monitoring services at my school include DyKnow, which teachers use to monitor students' screens, and Securely, which blocks websites automatically for teachers. Faster than Thunder (talk | contributions) 19:36, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Never heard of those, but after some quick lookups, they are similar to Senso Client (screensharing) and IBOSS (web censoring & proxy), which my public school utilizes. There's a whole market for these. ~ GoatLordServant(Talk) 20:10, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
