Information icon Hello, I'm Paper9oll. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Ryeoun, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. โ€” Paper9oll (๐Ÿ”” โ€ข ๐Ÿ“) 02:34, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Shin Ye-eun, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. โ€” Paper9oll (๐Ÿ”” โ€ข ๐Ÿ“) 17:32, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Understanding what sources not to use

Hello, thank you for your edits. However, please be aware that there are certain sources that Wikipedia deems reputable and non-reputable, which can be found at WP:KO/RS. Most of the sources you have been using are non-reputable, therefore they have been reverted. Also, follow MOS:PUFFERY while writing, or else your edits will be removed as well. Thank you for your understanding. ษดแด‹แดษด21 โฏโฏโฏ talk 04:24, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Lee Joon-gi filmography, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. โ€” Paper9oll (๐Ÿ”” โ€ข ๐Ÿ“) 19:16, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I understand the guidelines Wikipedia has to offer with citing sources. However, I am confused about what and what not to do when citing credible sources. Can you please tell me how I can improve with citing sources?
For example, if I want to make a separate filmography page for an actor and I move their credibility sources to that page, do I have to recheck their sources to make sure if it is outdated or not? I look at Wikipedia citing sources page and its a bit confusing for me. Is there a video tutorial info for beginners?

Your edit was reverted because you didn't provide a reliable source. Search engine results page is not a reliable source. In addition, adding a source is not equals to providing a reliable source. As noted above by Nkon21, you should refer to WP:KO/RS for a list of reliable and unreliable sources, and do not add non-WP:NPOV materials containing MOS:PUFFERY language. Also, do not split article unnecessary as you have did on Baby Vox and Song Hye-kyo, this article isn't big enough to justify a split nor was there sufficient citations to support the content that is split regardless this actions is non-constructive. โ€” Paper9oll (๐Ÿ”” โ€ข ๐Ÿ“) 19:33, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Paperdoll User.
On the last message relating to the topic of citing reliable sources, I acceptably understand my mistake and I will make sure what not to do in the future as far as my mistakes can go.
I am emailing in regards to in concern with citing sources and how I can ask for your advice. One thing I want to know is how to cite old information about a particular music group such as Baby V.O.X. even though some of their sites are old and outdated since they were active around the 90s/2000s. If I wanted to cite an old source claiming the credibility of the person even though those sources are old archives, how do I do that?
Another thing I wanted to ask is how to upload images from the internet to the Wikipedia page. How do I claim copyright of the person publishing the photo? I looked at the policy and it says I have to contact them in email. However, most of the photos I tried to upload were about more than 20 years ago around the 90s in south korea. Around that time the K-pop wave wasn't big and it's unknown who took the photos of those idols. How do I contact them if I don't even know if they are alive?
I can tell you I got those images at websites such as K-pop wikipedia. F.xount (talk) 19:38, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, if an editor replied to you on this talk page for instance, and you have a further queries pertaining to the same topic then you should also reply here instead of opening another discussion elsewhere. Secondly, there is no differences in citing information for materials regardless of timeframe. If the information isn't sourceable then as per WP:NOT and WP:BURDEN, it shouldn't be included here. Thirdly, similarly for images, there is no differences in the licensing regardless of timeframe, read Commons:Licensing and Commons:COM:ROK, if no images fit the criteria then it shouldn't be uploaded. โ€” Paper9oll (๐Ÿ”” โ€ข ๐Ÿ“) 05:34, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
