Hi Possibly and Dark Glow - I received a message from you re. a potential COI for my edits, which I was worried to see was being treated as an 'incident’. I’ve now made sure to update my user page disclosing that I made my edits in consultation with John Yorke, but that my intention was to fill in gaps in his existing bio to give a full, accurate picture, with every update cited with a reputable source (sometimes two!) - but have my contributions not been approved? Can you let me know if the steps I have taken are enough to disclose the COI? To adhere to guidelines, I will also ensure to suggest edits on the talk page in future rather than make any direct edits to the page. Please respond with any feedback or instructions as simply as you can as I’m relatively new to this platform and Wiki’s help pages can sometimes be difficult to understand! Incorrect COI information on John Yorke (TV Producer) Wikipedia page

Hi editors, I can see on the Talk section of John Yorke's page there's a disclaimer that I have been paid by John Yorke to make updates to this page. Please note that this is inaccurate - John Yorke has not paid me anything. If you take a look at my userpage it clarifies that I am an employee of an organisation named 'John Yorke Story' - I don't want to release private information here but this is not the same as being paid personally by John Yorke. Please could you correct this? No need to mention the name of the business if this goes against Wiki rules. Many thanks! Emjron (talk) 15:15, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unpaid employees (e.g. interns) are condsidered to be COI/paid editor. You are literally working for an organization named after the article subject. Please don't waste valuable editor time complaining. --- Possibly ☎ 16:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Possibly, thanks for the info re. unpaid employees, I wasn't aware of that. My intention here was to flag something that could paint an inaccurate picture - ‘Emjron (talk · contribs) has been paid by John Yorke’ - to editors who work hard ensuring accuracy on their pages, and I’d still really appreciate if the clarification could be made to reflect the situation. To say I've 'wasted' your 'valuable time complaining’ is a bit unreasonable, especially as you recognise the distinction: you took the time to edit your response from ‘you are literally working for him.’ to ‘you are literally working for an organization…’ - and that small but important clarification is all I was asking for on the page (if it's possible to do so). But ultimately, if you don’t wish to clarify the disclaimer the way you clarified your response here, there's not much I can do. You're working for John Yorke, albeit indirectly? Who cares about some distinction. You are wasting editor time complaining about the characterization of your employment.
