From Secret

I'm still an administrator, I just took a much needed break from the tools because of upcoming thyroid surgery and to prevent complete burnout on the project because of some recent on-wiki events my philosophy didn't agree with. I planned to get the tools back eventually. Thanks Secret account 13:05, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, could you please elaborate a bit regarding the on-wiki events? --Elonka 18:24, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you don't mind...

But I borrowed your format for my ACE guide... User:SirFozzie/ACE2013 SirFozzie (talk) 04:19, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! With all the guide formats about, I just continue using what I'm most comfortable with. But if you (or anyone else) would like to copy it, I'm honored! --Elonka 07:36, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Timeliness

Hi there,

I had prepared drafts of some questions yesterday, but wasn't able to get online most of the night. I have since finished the posted questions. LFaraone 01:11, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

… minus one by Sven I overlooked and will attend to in a bit. LFaraone 01:38, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will take a look! Though I have to ask, why so long to answer these? I understand being busy for a week, but these questions have been available for quite awhile. And being an arbitrator is going to take way more work than just this set of questions... Are you sure you're ready for the job? --Elonka 01:53, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn't reviewed the questions prior to declaring, and started addressing them shortly after the nomination deadline and after other editors had posted questions on my page. I often collect volunteer work with projects I'm a part of into batches, so that when I'm working in a particular context I can devote my full attention to it. Sort of a way to try to combat a bit of ADD/ADHD. So really, its just an issue of scheduling, and I am confident that I can partition my time such that I would be able to devote the requisite attention to handling the casework of the Committee. Thank you for the reply. I do acknowledge that you've done an enormous amount of good work for the project. This ArbCom run aside though, your contributions to the Wikipedia project seem to have been steadily declining over the last few months. You were very active over the summer, especially in closing AfDs (thanks!), but then in August your activity declined sharply for the first part of the month, then rose again in the latter. September and October showed even less wiki-activity, the first part of November was the same, and then on November 19th you decided to run for ArbCom, and as discussed, took quite awhile answering the questions. I have to ask, Why run? This just isn't the pattern of edits I'd expect to see from someone making a serious run for ArbCom? --Elonka 22:03, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I became a functionary in August, and that has been a large amount of my contributions to date. As to why I'm running, I think ArbCom as a body plays a major role in shaping the project, and I care deeply about ensuring it goes in the right direction. I have the time to devote to it, and am used to handling things requiring this level of attention to detail, so running made sense. LFaraone 03:48, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
