How to use categories

I see you created the category "Extinct dog breed". I appreciate the enthusiasm, but there are two problems here:

The category Extinct dog breeds already exists. We try very hard not to create duplicate categories.
That is not how we put pages in categories. To put a page X into category Y, you need to edit page X and add the text [[Category:Y]] at the bottom. What you did is create a list, which is a kind of article that belongs in the main article space, not the category space. The article List of extinct dog breeds also already exists.
