A tag has been placed on Dogs originating in Bolivia, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. How to use categories

I see you created the category "Extinct dog breed". I appreciate the enthusiasm, but there are two problems here:

  1. The category Extinct dog breeds already exists. We try very hard not to create duplicate categories.
  2. That is not how we put pages in categories. To put a page X into category Y, you need to edit page X and add the text [[Category:Y]] at the bottom. What you did is create a list, which is a kind of article that belongs in the main article space, not the category space. The article List of extinct dog breeds also already exists.

I've re-directed the category you created to the existing one. I suggest you read WP:CAT before creating any more categories. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! —swpbT 13:04, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Carlin Pinscher

Hello EliteInformation,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Carlin Pinscher for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Bradv 19:18, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dog breeds originating in Bolivia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

We don't need a "list" with only one item.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article Carlin Pinscher has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable; neither dogbreedinfo.com nor dogbreedplus.com are anything like reliable sources and the American Canine Hybrid Club is simply a "send us some money and we'll send you a worthless bit of paper" type of 'registry'.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
