Bothering you
Sorry if I drilled you too many messages but there are some things I thought it would be wise to discuss with the maps and to save having to go back and do things again later. I'll try to limit how often I message you as I appreciate you want to spend the time editing/reading, mostly the same as me, but I sometimes get pretty bored with not having that many people I can openly speak to on here. Sorry, kept getting sidetracked. Today has been slow, though, so I've gone and finished the translation.
A caveat: it's VERY workmanlike, and I would smooth it up a lot were I to submit it for publication. As it stands, it gets the gist of things across. If there's anything you'd like me to finesse further, just let me know. FHB picture
Hello. I have a comment about [image]. My suggestion is that when you use it (and this goes for any image), you are doing so because it's intimately linked to the subject of the article at hand, and not solely because we happen to have a free image of FHB on Commons. For instance, in the Justin Ahomadégbé-Tomêtin article, FHB plays just a peripheral role: he mediated a dispute and recognised a party. But he wasn't even from the same country; the link is rather tenuous. Or, put another way, if we had a free image of Ahomadégbé-Tomêtin, would you still be using the FHB picture? The same goes for some of the other articles where it appears. Well, feel free to disregard this advice, but I just wanted to share my opinion. Biruitorul Talk 19:49, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Anywho, I read some of the French Wiki article on Maga, and found this cryptic note, which is alas unsourced: "Ces années sénégalaises sont aussi l’occasion d’une conversion au catholicisme, peut-être liée à sa rencontre avec sa future femme, une Dahoméenne issue d’une importante famille de « Brésiliens » de la côte." Roughly, "These Senegalese years were also the period during which Maga converted to Catholicism, perhaps related to his meeting with his future wife, a Dahomeyan from an important family of 'Brazilians' from the coast." It doesn't give her name, it doesn't indicate who she may have been, and I've no idea why there were Brazilians on the coast of Benin. Still, it's something you can work on.
By the way, I think I'll do some rudimentary translation from the French Wiki to fill out the redlinks in the template of Benin presidents. (Not today, though - Blofeld asked me to stub some French pols.) I thought I might do more, but none of the political parties are the subject of an article on the French Wiki.

Hi Ed hope you are well. Yes I know what you mean about Nepal. I will actually be resuming in a minute though. There really isn't that much left to do in starting them now. I've mostly been working on Mexico see Wikipedia:WikiProject Mexico/State templates with User:Aille and helping Herring with politician stubs at present Template:Senators of France. I've also developed Moonraker (film) that just passed GA but feel a bit guilty spending much time on a silly film when there are more serious areas of the project needing development, like Liberia as you say. I;ve expanded Pathibhara anyway. Ed if you do anymore dabbing can you please do it at Village Development Committee (Nepal) and then copy it to the template/district article and then the VDC page. Its just I am using it to regulate what is left and what needs dabbing and if you do the dabbing eleswhere its hard to keep track of and may result in me redabbing again unnecesarily when you;ve already done it. Did you know I've passed the 199,000 mark now. Nepal should just about take me over the 200,000 mark! Between Waacstaats alnother welshmen and I we have 370,000 edits. Crazy isn't it. I wish I knew how many articles I've started though. If you have over 100 k edits it doesn't work. How many do you think? It must be over 40,000 by now. I was born in St Davids Hospital Canton, Cardiff. My dads family lived on Cowbridge Road East the same place Ivor Novello was born, which is by coincidence the same road the hospital was on. Lived though in Highlight Park, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan all my life about 10 miles from where I was born. I speak very few words of Welsh though and am one of the few who speak with an English accent around here. The Severn Bridge is exactly 38 minutes away! Yes you';d be amazed how quickly the edit count racks up. If you mass stub and tag the articles too this makes it massive. I would have thought you'd be in the 30-40,000 range by now. The ghost of Cyril Lakin
Incidentally Cyril Lakin a former politician lived 15 metres away from me in the farmhouse behind my house. This may sound strange or disbelievable to you but I've seen his ghost twice. Once I was playing golf on the course behind my house in about 1998 with a friend and at the corner of 13th and 14th there is clearing between the woods. Both my friend and I saw a figure of an old man with a brown cap and tweed jacket that we could have sworn was him. When we got there the tee off on the fourteenth he had vanished. Also about a two and a half years ago July 2006 I swear I woke up about 2 am and there was a guy in a farmers cap and padded olive green body warmer like he used to wear standing by my attic room door. The moonlight often reflects off the window but the image of him was unmistakeable. I jumped out of bed and turned the lights on and there was nothing but I swear I was shivering cold which was really peculiar as it was hot summer night in July. I've never seen anything else like it but I swear, you'll have to take my word for it we didn't imagine it. I'm not the only one who has experienced it. I know at least 10 people on my estate who have felt some kind of presence while walking their dogs and often the dogs have gone crazy barking at what looked like nothing. Every time you walk past the old barn behind my house, my dad has felt it too when picking blackberries you get a very strange sense that he is there watching you. Never seen him since. I know its difficult to explain but you also get a sixth sense that somebody is there too don't you. Some people get embarrassed talking about it but I don't think they should. I bet you physically felt that that girl was actually there. You have to experience it personally don't you to full understand it. Well I still don't understand how it happened. My dad is the most level headed, and honest person I know and he has experienced one or two events in his life which he can't explain. Back in the 1970s he was standing in the hallway in his sisters old house in Llandaff looking at photographs and he was 110% certain his sister had joined him he could actually sense somebody standing directly behind him. He spoke to his sister pointing to the photo on the wall "Ah the woman second from left is our mother's Aunt Silvia isn't it?". There was no reply. He turned around and there was nobody in the hallway, nobody in sight. He went to find his sister and she had been in the kitchen at the opposite end of the house nowhere near it. He asked her, "I thought you were just out in the hallway". She rmeoved her hands from a kneeding bowl she was making bread in and said, "Do I look like I've been in the hallway"? If it was around 30,000 before Nepal and Mexico I'd imagine it would be around 35,000 by now, probably not quite 40,000 yet. If only I could magically create this number of FA articles... VDC
Ed I'm not sure about adding the information on what a VDC is to every article is neccessary. I know we need to fill them out but it is kind of generic when we have the information in the main VDC article. The individual articles should be filled with data and information on the specific VDC rather than the generalised type of government. Count Blofeld 11:17, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Ah I see. By the looks of it though Sandhikharka is one of the few district headquarters which don't actually appear to be an urban municipality. Usually a municipal headqurarters is shaded in blue but this appears to have the same status as a VDC which is rare. Yes it looks as if we were both right about that. Sandhikharka doesn't have a "municipality" status like most of the municipal district headquarters listed here. IN some of the more populated districts sometimes there are two or occasionally three municipality status areas in a district. Its looks though as if there are 58 municipal level areas in Nepal meaning that at least 17 districts don't have municipal level headquarters. Count Blofeld 12:01, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
