Wikiproject!

Hello, DexDor! I saw you recently edited a page related to the Green party and green politics. There is a WikiProject that has been formed - WikiProject Green Politics and I thought this might be something you'd be interested in joining! So please head on over to the project page and take a look! Thanks for your time. Me-123567-Me (talk) 17:38, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Me-123567-Me. I've no particular interest in green politics; my contributions are mostly fixing categorization anomalies. DexDor (talk) 06:47, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough! Me-123567-Me (talk) 16:58, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Article namespace templates has been nominated for discussion

Category:Article namespace templates, which you created, has been nominated for possible deletion, merging, or renaming. A discussion is taking place to see if it abides with the categorization guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the categories for discussion page. Thank you. This was relisted at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2017_June_17#Category:Article_namespace_templates. If this is closed as no consensus (or before), I think the best thing to do is to populate it more. – Fayenatic London 11:49, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've added some contents. Feel free to add/revise more. – Fayenatic London 23:13, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

A 'new' editor is recreating categories initially created by user:NotWith and deleted at cfd; see eg Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2014_November_10#Category:Tetrapods_by_year_of_formal_description (your nom). Any ideas? Oculi (talk) 11:25, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Doctor Who templates Category

Do you have a policy link for this? As far as I can see WP:CAT is fine with this as templates are not articles and specifically section "Template categorization" appears to be about the templates themselves. Cheers, Dresken (talk) 20:22, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That category (Category:Doctor Who templates) isn't a category specifically for _wikiproject_ pages (i.e. Pages with "wikiproject" in their name). That pages (in whatever namespace) are of _interest_ to a project can be tagged on the talk page. Why might it be appptopriate to categorize those template pages as wikiproject pages (your edit summary wasn't at all clear)? (ps i'm travelling at moment so limited mobile internet access). DexDor (talk) 16:37, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't see the need to justify it as it literally says in the message box for templates "part of Wikipedia's administration and not part of the encyclopedia" - which makes it . Category:WikiProject Doctor Who templates is a soft redirect to it as it was renamed years ago. Cheers, Dresken (talk) 20:32, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Both template pages and wikiproject pages are part of wp administration (rather than content), but that doesn't mean that one should be categorized under the other. Where a wikiproject "owns" several templates then a category for that project's templates may be appropriate (e.g. See categories below Category:WikiProject templates). DexDor (talk) 16:18, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think you actually oppose the renaming of the category. I wasn't around at the time for that - and I don't mind if it is renamed back - but it doesn't change what it contains though "banners, collaboration templates, portal templates, user templates, etc., as well as navbox and infobox templates" relating to the WikiProject Doctor Who. 20th-century births

Is there an animal equivalent?--Bellerophon5685 (talk) 20:39, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Bellerophon5685 - There isn't (yet) an exact equivalent, but there's Category:Animal births by year. DexDor (talk) 05:56, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
