Edit to Headache article

What is your source of this statistic that you added, please? "(although up to 99% of headaches have a benign cause"

--75.108.49.216 04:30, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The statistic came from a medical text book of symptoms and diagnoses. I added it because I felt the article made out that a large amount of headaches were due to a serious cause, when the majority are due to harmless causes. Please remove it if you think it gives out the wrong information...:/

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo transmedics.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo transmedics.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 11:55, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, D Dinneen. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. Hello D Dinneen, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Spleak.jpg) was found at the following location: User:D Dinneen. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 19:44, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to London

Hi. I reverted your edit adding a section on crime to the London article. If you want to make a statement about whether crime is rising or falling, you need to find a reference for it, especially since you linked it to 'ethnic areas', which is obviously a sensitive issue. Also, I wouldn't call an area 'ethnic' - we all have an ethnicity so 'ethnic area' is meaningless. I presume what you mean is an area with a large ethnic minority population. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Flora logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Flora logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Morrison gene.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Morrison gene.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. File copyright problem with File:User D Dinneen.png

Thank you for uploading File:User D Dinneen.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 03:59, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed your recent edit to the above article. Do you have a better source? IMDb only states that the castle was used as a filming location for Colditz and doesn't go into the same detail of reasoning (or indeed any) that you do. In anycase IMDb isn't a great source and better alternatives should be used wherever available. Nev1 (talk) 17:00, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately wikis generally aren't considered reliable because they can be edited by anyone; it's the same reason Wikipedia doesn't consider itself to be a reliable source. I think maybe the statement should be reduced to what is verifiable. Nev1 (talk) 17:22, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Etilaam Tablets.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source problem with File:GrantWilkinson.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:GrantWilkinson.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
