COI editor seek assistance on Environment America page

Hello DA Sonnenfeld. My name is Dan Cook. I work with Elizabeth Ridlinngton who you know as User:CleanWater17. She has asked me to take over editing duties for the Public Interest Research Group-related articles on Wikipedia. I have been a Wikipedia editing trainer, advisor, and, more recently, a direct editor on behalf of paying clients for more than a decade. I love and respect Wikipedia and only seek to make it a better resource for readers.

We would appreciate your help with a revision of the opening paragraph of the Environment America article. An anonymous editor, User:Blorpfiend, recently vandalized the paragraph. Since this is the only edit in Blorpfiend’s history, and Blorpfiend does not have a user description page, I suspect they have a grievance with PIRG. They added two “facts” in the intro: one is false, the other accurate but probably does not belong in the intro.

Would you be willing to review my revision request? I can put it in the COI edit request template format on the talk page of the article if that works for you, or I can just place the request here on your talk page. My preference would be to revert the edit in its entirety, given the anonymity of the editor and the likelihood this is a ‘payback’ edit of some type. I would be willing to leave the Charity Navigator reference as is, since what it states is true. But it does seem out of place in the intro. Please advise me. Thanking you in advance, DanDavidCook (talk) 22:38, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello Dan Cook, Thank you for your note. I looked at the article that you referenced and was unable to find a reliable source for the one statement, and removed it, at least for now. I refined the reference to the Charity Navigator rating and moved it to its own section. It is fairly common for articles such as this to include a 'Criticisms' section. If the editor involved is able to come up with a reliable source for the referenced claim, it may end up in such a section at some point. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 18:46, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks so much! Elizabeth speaks highly of you and I appreciate your response to the request. She and I were thinking of asking for a Criticisms or Controversies section for legal and related matters. We thought perhaps Controversies would cover a wider range of actions, since PIRG and EA initiate a fair amount of litigation as plaintiffs in environmental cases. But maybe both sections would also work. We would love to get your feedback on that. DanDavidCook (talk) 19:29, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Yes, my suggestion there would be to outline what you have in mind on the talk page for that article. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 19:32, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Will do! Thanks! DanDavidCook (talk) 22:20, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

COI editor seeking to improve PIRG main article

Hello User:DASonnenfeld. This is Dan Cook, who is being paid to improve the Public Interest Research Group article and related ones such as Environment America. I do not want to impose unduly on your time. But since you helped improve the EA article, I thought it appropriate to ask for you help on the PIRG article before I reach out to other editors.

My first request is, I think, a simple fix. Here it is in the COI edit request format. And please feel free to decline if it interferes with other priorities. I will have several other requests over the coming weeks.

Hello there my name is Dan Cook. I am a paid editor hired to improve the main Public Interest Research Group article and others related to it. I would like to request a quick fix to the first paragraph of the History section. The reason for the request is that the two citations at the end of the graph--5 & 6--have been left out, leaving only the numbers. My suggestion is to NOT include 5, because it does not support any information in the graph, but to add in 6, which does. So my COI edit request is as follows:

LIST OF PROPOSED CHANGES
Current text Replace with
Ross helped students across the country set up the first PIRG chapters, then became the director of the New York Public Interest Research Group in 1973.[5][6] Ross helped students across the country set up the first PIRG chapters, then became the director of the New York Public Interest Research Group in 1973.[1]

Thanks in advance for your assistance. DanDavidCook (talk) 16:33, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi DanDavidCook, Please place this request for assistance on the talk page of the referenced article, not on my personal talk page. Thank you. I'm unable to assist further with such requests at this time. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 21:10, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

COI editor needing help correcting error on Environment America page

Hi @DASonnenfeld- I recently noticed that some information on the Environment America page refers to Environment America Research & Policy Center, a related but separate organization. I have a conflict of interest with this page and don't want to edit the text myself. (I've corrected the text box, which I believe is ok to do, but please let me know if I'm wrong about that.)

I've very much appreciated your help editing this page in the past and am wondering if you could take a look at the proposed revisions I've posted on the Environment America talk page.

Thank you very much for any help or feedback you can provide. CleanWater17 (talk) 23:55, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".
