Elysia (Wiki Ed), Hi Elysia! Hope this works. Also, just so it doesn't get lost in our Slack convo, I would love your thoughts on AMIA Conference and a presentation and edit-a-thon. CuriousDaily (talk) 15:07, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! An article you have been editing –- Marie C. Brehm –- was recently nominated by another user at Did you know, to be featured on the main page. The nomination has now been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! StudiesWorld (talk) 21:13, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

StudiesWorld,
Thanks for the note. The similar sentence which jumped out at me was the one about her death. I have now rewritten that. Are there any other sections which need to be re-phrased? CuriousDaily (talk) 21:56, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that! The other concern is about the words, "was the first legally qualified female candidate to run for the vice-presidency". However, I'm not sure of a better way to rephrase it, else I would rephrase it myself. If you have a thought, please make a change, but I'll also think on it some more. StudiesWorld (talk) 22:27, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I just made a change and am approving the nomination. It's still a close paraphrase, but it seems impossible to avoid. StudiesWorld (talk) 22:30, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
StudiesWorld, Thank you. I'm going to clarify it a bit, since Marietta Stow was actually the first woman to run for VP in 1884, but it was not legal since women did not yet have the right to vote. So I'll try to clarify it without going back to the original language. Thanks again for your assistance. I'm new at editing so appreciate the help. CuriousDaily (talk) 22:41, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for working on this important article. StudiesWorld (talk) 22:56, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
StudiesWorld Writing on behalf of CuriousDaily, who recommends using the first choice DYK hook rather than ALT1 hook since as she rewrote the section regarding the first legally qualified woman VP - it turns out the history is messier and makes it tough to have a succinct and accurate DYK. Thanks for your help! Khughes23 (talk) 16:27, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed some of your additions to this page, the references you have added are links to your sandbox, this does not constitute a reference. Please read WP:CITE for instructions on how to do it properly--Jac16888 Talk 16:32, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jac16888, Thanks for pointing out that issue. I went ahead and fixed it on behalf of CuriousDaily, who is a participant in one of our courses. Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:00, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Marie C. Brehm

On 24 May 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Marie C. Brehm, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Marie C. Brehm scolded an audience for waving handkerchiefs and spreading disease at a temperance meeting? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Marie C. Brehm. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Marie C. Brehm), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
