Watchlist

I was wondering if you might put your new articles on your watchlist. They are currently showing as unwatched by anyone which makes them very vulnerable to vandalism. Every article should be actively watched by at least one active member. Let me know if you do not plan on being an active member here and I will ask someone else to watch your articles. Thanks for uploading Image:52822715 10.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Repeated postings of rants

Hi, I would like to ask that instead of posting your rants on Wikipedia articles like Terrorism in Kazakhstan, post your rants on my talkpage at User talk:KazakhPol. posts to Terrorism in Kazakhstan

Hi Cs - looking at your posts on Terrorism in Kazakhstan. The place to post such a criticism is on the discusion page for that article. Only cited material or material directly related to the topic should go on the article's page. If you provide citations then the criticisms of other material in the article would go in the article. If you disagree with how the article is being formed then the discusion page is the place to engage with other editors on the topic.

I suggest not ascribing motivations to other editors. Just focus on working with them to improve the article. I was called a Creationist one week and then an Evolutionist the next by one editor. At the time that editor may have been thinking that a belief could only be included in Wikipedia if it was scientifically proved. It took me weeks to finally catch on to that way of thinking and whack it on the head. So I try to "Assume good faith" from fellow editors and dont assume reason, rationality or logic. Signing your name: Terrorism in Kazakstan

Hi Cs, you are catching on very quickly. However: "I do click four tildas as all my posts show a cs and date, I have no idea why it does not appear as a link or valid user sign."

What you need to do is at the end of your post hit the "~" Key 4 times. This will automatically sign and time/date stamp your post. No need to type your name or time etc. To write the same instructions differently:

Please also remember to sign your name with four consecutive tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message. Doing this will automatically sign and date your post.

Forgive me if I have laboured this point - I found it difficult to get when I started editing. You appear to be a valuable editor and I'd like to see your energy put into productive stuff, not dealing with signature requests. Please feel free to send me a test message to try this out. Well-done, but I suggest you go back and look at your links for number 4 under your evidence. You misspelled 'explanation' and none of your diffs work. Actually, you did not provide diffs, but instead provided links to individual pages. To provide diffs, click on 'history', just to the right of 'edit this page'. Then you can compare different versions of the page by clicking 'Compare selected versions'. Other mistakes and misinterpretations of policies are noted in my response. CIA-Al Qaeda funding

While I do not have a copy of the book you are referencing, I do have Google books, and page 85 does not say Bin Laden or Al Qaeda. Neither does 86. You can view these pages here[1]. Please explain how these pages show a link between CIA funding and Al Qaeda. KazakhPol 15:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
It does..here is a working link [2]. The link does not directly take you to page 85, you have to browse. I guess that is because a bug on Google books.

Category / Article Distinction

Hi CS - welcome to WikiProject Central Asia! It looks like you're off to a good start, but there's a distinction that I think you should be aware of: category versus article. A category is analogous to a filing cabinet: other articles and categories are placed in it, as well as (possibly) a brief description of what the category is about (when there is a question, such as Georgia, Republic of versus Georgia, US State). As such, categories ought not contain encyclopedic content, nor should they be redirected to articles. There are a few articles / categories you've created that need to be fixed as a result of this. If you'd like to try to do it, feel free, but if you'd like some assistance from someone a little more familiar with the wiki format (or if you have any other pertinent questions), also feel free to ask!
