Please do not ignore comments that are designed to improve the quality of Wikipedia articles, as you did with Cradle's genre. Please discuss it on the talk page first. ≈ The Haunted Angel 19:45, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your arrogance will only get you banned, I'm afraid. Changing their genre so ignorantly without prior discussion, as Metallum is not the governing factor on metal in the world, will count as vandalism. What makes you so sure of yourself, I don't know. ≈ The Haunted Angel 19:06, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, it appears that you're already getting warnings on this site. Listen mate, I'll give you the chance to realise why you're going about this the wrong way, rather than feeding the trolls. I know about Metallum, I visit it rather frequently. However, I'll say again that they are not the governing factor on music in the world. Saying that Cradle is any one genre is an opinion, an opinion's are not welcome in encyclopedic articles. I could give my opinion on what genre they are, and I'd personally judge it at being very accurate, but again, that's not welcome on Wikipedia, because Cradle's genre is disputed, and must be shown as such. So, rather than make personal attacks on people and ignore warnings, read the opening statement on Talk:Cradle of Filth, and edit articles with those thoughts in mind. Thank you. ≈ The Haunted Angel 22:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you look on the Cradle page, that is how the layout is now. Extreme metal is the closest genre we can get to without going into POV, and we now have something along the lines of "Extreme metal (See below). Album pages are something that will be handled later, as they require slightly more thought from past discussions, especially considering their albums that are black metal (although even that's disputed) and full on death metal. Also, please try and sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~). ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:48, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First off, please remember to sign your posts. Secondly, avoid calling people names (sounds whiny, but there are those on Wikipedia who won't take it as light as I do). Thirdly, Cradle's early demos are death metal - I should know, I own them all. Total Fucking Darkness however, is their first demo without the death metal element. Fourth, yes, the List of black metal bands does load for me, I guess it's your PC. If I think of anything more to add, I will do later. ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:36, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, it's not me who has the problem with you, it's Wikipedia's rules. If you act in an unsociable manner, expect a ban. Secondly, no, those are not the definitions of death and black metal. It's how it sounds. I can tell the difference between the two rather easilly. Even a Dizee Rascal fan can tell that Nile and Gorgoroth are totally different. As for "Speed goth"? Heh, nah, Cradle's early demo's are by far their most extreme. Death metal, and for an extent, even starting to go onto the brutal/slam death metal style. Lyrical content means nothing (until you start getting into "Unblack metal", and the like). ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:55, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, as it appears you are incapable of following our rules, consider this your final warning for your personal attacks, and inability to follow editing rules with Cradle articles. Whether or not you like it, Cradle's early days were death metal, then they went very briefly barely to black metal, and now they are neither, so get over it and please read the opening message here. ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:21, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For all of your arrogance and claims that you know more about metal then anyone on this site, it appears that you don't know a thing about metal and it's genres. As I've said, Cradle's early demos, such as The Black Goddess Rises, and all up to Total Fucking Darkness. I can only doubt your knowledge on both Cradle and metal genre's in general. Oh, and telling people to 'fuck off' is a personal attack. There's no need to get angry on this site, it's only Wikipedia, and isn't worth frustration to the point where you end up throwing aggressive profanity at people. Chill out. ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:57, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: why

OK, I'll make this simple. Get your hands on one of these demos. That is clearly death metal. However, their death metal period ends there. Should you wish to hear what true black metal is, buy an album by Gorgoroth, Mayhem, Darkthrone or Immortal. That is true black metal, and Cradle barely sounds like any of them, only a few songs come close, and that is from their first two albums at the best. And so, one can't simply call them "black metal", as they simply aren't. They were death metal early, early on, but alas, no more. I have no desire to throw profanity at you over Wikipedia, as any discussion that is worth while can be done without breaking Wikipedia's rules; if you must be aggressive in your arguments, then you're not worth talking to. ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:28, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't the time to waste emailing you - as I said, anything that needs discussing can be done here. There is far more to black metal then those two factors - Cradle is far to accessible to be true black metal. Seriously, buy this album, and compare it to say, this. They are a world apart. They were still Cradle of Filth back in their very early death metal days. Now however, all that is certain about their genre is that they fit into the extreme metal umbrella genre. Take a look at this page to get what I mean. I think Metallum's definition of Cradle is good enough - but it's not Wikipedia's place to declare their genre. Again, read the opening note on the talk page. ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:42, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
-Sigh- I take it you resign your argument; just as well. ≈ The Haunted Angel 18:49, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's why it's called "defamation not specifically directed." You were attacking a type of people in general, which is against policy just as personal attacks are. Please don't, and you may want to read WP:CIVIL. Thanks! Gscshoyru 18:47, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
