ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Cohee. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I understand this edit. Could you please explain it? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:50, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The addition of "fn. 15" directs the reader to footnote 15; "p." conventionally directs the reader to the body of text on the page. The article reference is to information in the footnote. Cohee (talk) 22:16, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've never seen that in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Where did you find it? Magnolia677 (talk) 22:41, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I learned this so long ago I don't remember where. But I am quite sure it was not from Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Cohee (talk) 02:38, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Captain Courtesy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Variety (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Samaniego

Hi, I see you've created the page List of people with surname Samaniego. You are right to create this page, but really, it should be a disambiguation page from which to access the various people and places called Samaniego. This is the standard article that is created when you have a common surname and many people with that surname – see Rodriguez or López, for example. If it's OK with you, I'm going to put in a request to move List of people with surname SamaniegoSamaniego, and SamaniegoSamaniego, Spain (or something similar). It's OK with me to convert the page to a disambiguation page. Thank you for the idea. Cohee (talk) 00:27, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Carpenter Dam postcard.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:22, 9 February 2021 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
