Analytical Chemistry (journal)

Part of your last edit to this article was to add copyrighted material from the journal's web site which had been removed by me in the edit previous to your edits. This material is copyrighted by ACS and can be added to wikipedia. I have removed it. Regards, --Bduke (Discussion) 22:09, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to this article, which now starts with "Bioconjugate Chemistry is indexed in Biochemical Research Methods, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Multidisciplinary Chemistry and Organic Chemistry," is only a very slight reword of the ACS article on the journal. It may still be a copyright violation. Note I changed Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to the correct articles for the journals. What is Organic Chemistry intended to point to? Clearly not the article on organic chemistry. What are Biochemical Research Methods and Multidisciplinary Chemistry? Until the links point to articles, perhaps there should be some explanation. Finally I have removed the heading "Journal Standing". We should not be following the ACS style from their web pages, but our own style. I think this heading and similar headings should be removed from several articles. --Bduke (Discussion) 22:32, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

February 2009

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. Thank you. I agree with the PROD removal, but you should give a rationale in the edit summary. Kkmurray (talk) 20:59, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a comment on the talk page of the Chemistry Project that supports removing the PROD removal, but the problem remains. This journal is so new, 2009, that nobody has had time to notice it and comment on it. It is therefore not notable, under the wikipedia meaning of the word, "notable". You need to look for outside references to it, as an impact fact will not be available for quite a time.--Bduke (Discussion) 22:07, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that a reasonable inherent notability argument could be made. My sentiment is to keep the article(s) and monitor copyright and conflict of interest issues. --Kkmurray (talk) 04:54, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please take note of the clean up work I have done on several of your edits and learn how articles are laid out. Your creation edit for this journal has all the problems I fixed on other articles. I am trying to help. The problems that I fixed, to spell them out, were:-

  • The title in the infobox, should be plain. The template makes it bold.
  • The title should be bold at the very beginning of the lead. Use ''' at the beginning and end of the name.
  • Do not add an external link to the journal web page in the article itself, as you already have it in the infobox.
  • Make your external links to references.
  • The category Category:ACS journals is sufficient. Category:Chemistry journals should not be there as it is the parent category for Category:ACS journals.

As I said, I am trying to help. Why not respond to my comments? --Bduke (Discussion) 22:27, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:2009 Cover Journal of the American Chemical Society.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:2009 Cover Journal of the American Chemical Society.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:43, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi , I've modified an article you worked on extensively because of potential copyright issues. Let me know if you have any concerns with the edits I made. Antorjal (talk) 00:44, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Chem.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chem.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kkmurray (talk) 14:24, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article ACS Chemical Neuroscience has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Journal does not even exist yet, article creation extremely premature, no way this journal can meet WP:Notability (academic journals.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Crusio (talk) 17:31, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated ACS Chemical Neuroscience, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ACS Chemical Neuroscience. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Crusio (talk) 00:03, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Chem.gif

Thank you for uploading File:Chem.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:42, 2 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:42, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
