Goin' Bullit

Ndashes are appropriate there according to style, as the need is for a dash longer than a hyphen. Please consider reverting the revert. (My father respected Filipinos far, far too much for me to ever do any harm to a topic relative to the Philippines!) Thanks. 2600:1004:B118:340:988A:8524:6630:5238 (talk) 01:00, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello. Please keep in mind that ClueBot NG is a robot -- it is not a human and cannot perform tasks outside of its programming. Please report false positives at WP:CBNGFP instead of this talk page. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 03:55, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Puzzle

User:ClueBot III/Indices/Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Encyclopaedia Britannica is showing up in CAT:CSD and I cannot get rid of it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:12, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

The interesting thing is that the page itself doesn't even have the category, even with the "View Hidden Categories" tool enabled. Might be a MediaWiki glitch. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 13:45, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
This is also under discussion at Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2015 January 31#User:ClueBot III/Indices/Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Encyclopaedia Britannica. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:15, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Clubot III fails to archive posts with unsigned template

See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Knight_Online&curid=2900526&diff=644959958&oldid=644948578 - I reverted for now. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 16:17, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

@Oiyarbepsy: It's not supposed to. The template must be substituted, as in {{subst:unsigned|Username|Timestamp}} (for logged-in users) or {{subst:unsignedIP|IP address|Timestamp}} (for anons). I fixed the page. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:25, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
Well, I know that now. I put most of the unsigned templates in the bot-subst category, and put edit requests for the rest of them, so that will help this issue. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 17:27, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
The bot does not archive based on dates in signatures but based on revision history of that section. If you keep reverting the bot, you keep (rightfully) postponing the archival, since you are changing those sections in the revision history. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 15:20, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
So, if you add signatures to 8 year old posts, you can't count on the bots to archive it properly? Oiyarbepsy (talk) 17:52, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
Apparently you can count on the bot; if you just leave the thread alone, the bot will pick it up eventually. If you use |age=26000 (as in the case of Talk:Knight Online before you removed the {{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis}}), it would have been archived 26000 hours later, which is about two weeks less than three years. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:52, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Discussion that might require changes to your bot

Please review the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Should unsigned templates be substituted. Thank you, Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:07, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

I don't see how this affects my bot(s). None of them parse signatures. None of them generate unsigned templates either. You may be thinking of ClueBot III which does archival, but it works based on whether or not there have been any changes to that section from the revision history, not based on the latest date from the latest signature. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 15:17, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Indices listed at Special:ShortPages

A handful of Indices are being listed at Special:ShortPages for the last week or so. Anything that can be done about it? {{Long comment}}? -- Sam Sing! 11:34, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

@Sam Sailor: Not until phab:T87645 is resolved - this is caused by the same problem as #Puzzle above. See the comment by Anomie of Mon, Feb 2, 4:30 PM, where you will notice that the problem is somewhat wider than these four pages, all of which are listed. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:51, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

ClueBot III not archiving in desired format

ClueBot III is archiving my talk page at "User talk:K6ka/Archives/ #" instead of "User talk:K6ka/Archive #" as it should be (so instead of archiving at User talk:K6ka/Archive 10 it goes to "User talk:K6ka/Archives/ 10". The "ArchiveThis" template looks like this on my page:

{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis
|archiveprefix = User talk:K6ka/Archive
|format= %%i
|age= 240
|archivenow={{tlu|User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}}
|maxarchsize= 140000
|minkeepthreads=0
|numberstart=10
|header={{talk archive{{!}}User_talk:K6ka}}{{archive-nav{{!}}{{archive number}}}}
}}

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 12:42, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Bot reports

I recently noticed that the ClueBot NG bot doesn't ignore uw-npaX warnings, however, according to WP:NOTVANDALISM, personal attacks are not vandalism, though are unacceptable behavior. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 02:00, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

It's still considered disruptive behavior, and vandalism is disruptive. NPOV isn't considered vandalism either, but CBNG and tools like Huggle and STiki don't ignore uw-npov warnings either. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 02:40, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Can't report False Positives

I can't report false positives, because it always throws me "404 - Not Found". What's going on? --ToonLucas22 (talk) 19:20, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Wikimedia Labs had maintenance; my guess is that's mucked it up. Pinging Rich Smith for a start. Yngvadottir (talk) 04:20, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
