Chemotherapy costs

I temporarily removed your addition to chemotherapy because I think it is based on a mistaken premise. Most chemotherapy drugs are relatively cheap (barring taxanes and some newer topoisomerase inhibitors). The cost problem is mainly due to targeted therapy drugs, which are not technically chemo drugs.

I explained my actions in the edit summary. This can usually be viewed by clicking "history" at the top of the page in question.

News articles are not usually fantastic sources for encyclopedia content. Usually, they are based on official reports, clinical research studies etc. It makes much more sense to quote such sources directly; this also avoids the journalistic spin often given in these stories. I'm not sure if I understand your message. The sources you cited for your addition on chemotherapy were Business Week, Fox News and the non-peer reviewed resource Hospital and Health Networks. Do you have other sources that you didn't cite?
The Fox News story explains that drugs like Gleevec (which is targeted therapy) has increased cost of cancer care. Perhaps this should be discussed further on Talk:Targeted therapy, so other contributors can offer their opinion. JFW | T@lk 19:01, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
