Hello, Charlizeriza, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Yunshui, and as you already know I am your Online Ambassador for the UBC Human Ecology course. Thanks for introducing yourself on my talkpage. My job here is to help you to work within Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, to answer any questions that you have about editing here, and to act as your advocate in the (unlikely) event that you find yourself in a dispute with another user.

You are welcome to contact me at any time by leaving a message on my Wikipedia talkpage or by emailing me. I will usually respond to any messages within 24 hours (though I aim to be faster!), but if you need more immediate help, you can ask questions of experienced editors at The Teahouse or get live help via Wikipedia's IRC channel (connect here).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Once again, if you need help with any aspect of Wikipedia, please just ask; it's what I'm here for. Enjoy your course! Yunshui  09:05, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Switching Partners

Hi Charlizeriza,

A. and I had already started as partners on our Wikipedia project regarding transportation. We asked Rosie this past weekend if we could work together, and because she was under the assumption that we had already received the email regarding the partners she created for us, she told us that our Wikipedia project was good to go. When we received the email during class today, we realized that the partners were not the same as A. and I had assumed.

Bottom line: would you be alright with switching partners (so J. and K. would be working together)? Please let me know if that's a problem so I can email with Rosie. Thanks,

BIOL 345 Wikipedia Project Discussion

Hi Cara,

The 84 does already have an existing page, but it's rather lacking at the moment. I had a look at some related pages, such as the 99 B-Line, as examples in order to see what needs to be added to the 84 page to improve it.

What I think would be important additions are:

  • Summary box at the beginning of the article
  • A picture of the bus (we can take it ourselves and upload it to Wikimedia Commons)
  • Info box with the bus route
  • Short descriptions to go with the stops
  • Any additional facts about the bus line (e.g. ridership numbers), provided by secondary sources if possible
  • A link to Translink's PDF of the bus schedule

Let me know if there's something that you feel would be useful to add to the page.

Yours sincerely,

Jovy Jovyeramela (talk) 04:22, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on your BIOL 345 proposal

Some concerns and suggestions:

As Yunshui suggests, please do your composing and editing in a Wikipedia sandbox rather than in Google docs. This may be a little less convenient, but it will help build your familiarity with Wikipedia and will also allow me to keep an eye on your progress, offering help if I think it's appropriate.

Don't forget about copyright issues. A map of the bus route would be nice, but you might have to draw the route yourself on a public map.

Including the history of the bus line is a good idea - why was it started and what populations does it mainly serve? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosieredfield (talkcontribs) 00:58, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
