Chelsi Smith is Biracial. If You are going to include her as black than you need to include Zuleyka. Zuleyka is just as black looking as chelsi. Zuleyka's parent are both Biracial. In Photographs it is clear that her paternal grandmother is black

Hi there PageantUpdater. How are you? I'm guessing you've had university exams recently so I hope that they went well. I've also tossed my hat in for the Esperanza council as is mentioned in the above update. As for Feedyourfeet's use of his talk page, I actually know of a few high level admins who blank their page at regular intervals (As annoying as it is) so there's nothing you can really do about it. Of course, if he is engaging in selective deletion of non-attack comments which he doesn't like, that may reflect badly on people's perception of his commitment to accountability. Also i would say if he does that by doing that his "suggestion" as he calls it is not helpfull, Which btw is archiving. Here's my two cents (since I also reverted the talk page). I left a message regarding a problem of Feedyourfeet adding {{PROD}} with no Edit Summary. That concerned me, as it means an article could be deleted, without the regular editors knowing. Such messages should hang around, at least for a little while, so if the problem repeats, others know the problem happened before. I do think PageantUpdater was justified, and its wildly absurd to bring in the word "vandalism". But, I suppose the issue is small enough (and policy unclear enough) to let the thing drop. --Rob 07:38, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My comment - if you check your history (which you seem unwilling to do) you will notice that I simply copied verbatim the edit summary of a previous user who had blanked your page.

I have checked the history, how do you think i know who had been reverting. Your point is true. but becouse you copyed it you should know what it is as wikipedia says to not to sign your name next to things you dont do.


My comment - it is quite obvious (to everyone but you, clearly) that you blank all "neutral" or positive messages, but delete all messages relating to unhelpful behaviour.

Beauty pageant maps

Hi! I made some maps to show the number of titles a country gained in international pageants in the Big Four pageants article. Astrokey44 moved a copy of each map to each of the pageants covered--Miss Universe, World, Earth and International. In addition, since he is quite good at map-making, he also offered to improve the maps in terms of color scheme, as well as including the host cities of all the editions in the map. To Whom It May Concern: I just wanted to point out a couple of errors on the pageant map I saw for Miss USA (color coded by number of wins for each state). 1) Utah should be purple, not blue (2 wins in 1957 & 1960). 2) Alabama should be blue (1 win in 1967). [I'm guessing these 2 were omitted because Linda Bement in 1960 & Sylvia Louise Hitchcock in 1967 both went on to win Miss Universe.] 3) Georgia and Maryland should not be colored in, as neither state has had a pageant winner. Lastly, I think you should somehow show the four titleholders who succeeded our Miss Universe winners: Sylvia Hitchcock '67, Shawn Weatherly '80, Chelsi Smith '95, & Brook Lee '97. In order, they were succeeded by Cheryl Ann Patton (Florida), Jineane Ford (Arizona), Shanna Moakler (New York), & Brandi Sherwood (Idaho). Although they didn't win the title outright, they should be acknowledged as titleholders. Maybe you can put blue diagonal stripes across each of those states, or some sort of blue shading. Articles/Pages for Miss Universe 2004-backwards

Good day! I want to continue contributing for the beauty pageant title most especially for the Miss Universe pageant, but I have seen, only from Miss Universe 2004 page only exists not 2003 backwards (I hope you got it). And Im willing to contribute information as much as possible but there's a problem. I have a hard time finding information for the pageant 2003-backwards (i.e. the delegates, special awards). Hope you could provide me good sources. Im continuing the page Miss Universe 2004. (By the way, thank you for appreciating my works by giving me the The Barnstar of High Culture :). You're doing great :) The best place to find information is Pageant Almanac which has the special awards and semi-finalist lists. As for delegate lists - Miss Universe Crystal Ball has those but it can be tricky because the site has often exceeded its bandwidth. The trick is to use Google's cache - you don't get the images but you do get the delegate names. Im Having Problem on Miss Universe 2004 delegates

Im currently editing the Miss Universe 2004 delegates and Im having problem with it. It cant display on 3 columns (just like on Miss Universe 2005 and Miss Universe 2006. I've finished putting the delegates' name and when Im previewing it or save the page, it only display in one column though I formatted them for three columns. I cant fix the problem but when I try to find the errors, I cannot find mistakes. Please fix it for me. Hedwig0407 28 July 2006

There are several ways to create a link to a new article that doesn't exist yet. You can create a "red link" or do a search and create form there. Take a look at Help:Starting a new page for more. I think that you will find that the easiest way to communicate with people is to post messages on each other's pages, so you may wish to reconsider that position. If you made the decision in response to the messages that you have been getting about images, please note that most of these come from automated bots and should not be taken harshly. I thought we'd already had this conversation? It certainly isn't appropriate to put them on the titleholders' pages, but you can create new articles for each pageant if you would like. Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.

  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Miss Universe editions main infos

Hi! Made an article/table for this. Check it out: List of Miss Universe editions main information. Similar to the winners list which you made, I am intending to just include a partial list (1997-2006) in the main Miss Universe article, however, I am not sure where to include it. Since it is about the pageant per se, I am thinking of inserting the section before the titleholders page, then again, Miss Universe, although it refers to the entire event, is more known to the public for the winners rather than the year, the place, etc. (i.e. you remember this winner, but you don't really care where she won). Oh, I also think that since we included the shortest, and youngest Miss Universe winners, then we should also include the tallest, and oldest winners, so as to give a complete picture in terms of height and age in the trivia section. I included more about this in the Miss Universe discussion page. Since Natalie Glebova was included also in the trivia section as the Miss Universe with the longest reign (418 days, to be exact), I am currently making some computations to determine which winner had the shortest official reign. That "honor" belongs to Miss Universe 1986 Barbara Palacios Teyde (309 days). In the case of those who were not able to finish their reigns (i.e. from their crowning until they crowned their successor), I am currently doing some more research, since although Oxana Fedorova was the first to be officially dethroned, she was not the first to not finish her reign (e.g. Amparo Munoz, and winners in the 1950s who immediately married after their crowning). Yes, I guess it's a good thing that I started a template, or else I (and maybe lots of editors too) wouldn't have known that a Miss Universe 1997 page even exists. Someone already started that 2003 page, but it needs MAJOR cleanup. Also, I finished doing some computations and already had a draft text which can be placed in the article, however, I think it's too long for a trivia entry. Hope ypu can help me out here. Here's the text: Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova enjoys the distinction of having the longest reign among all titleholders, for a total of 418 days, due mostly to the decision of moving the pageant from its regular May schedule to July of the following year. Coincidentally, the winner with the shortest official reign (from the time of her crowning until she passes the title to her successor) was Miss Universe 1986 Barbara Palacios, owing to a reverse of the said schedule, from the then traditional July to May of the following year. Her reign lasted for only 309 days, just one day shorter than the first winner, Armi Kuusela’s, who decided to end her reign early and get married. However, taking into consideration such exceptional circumstances, the winner with the shortest reign was 2002’s Oxana Fedorova, who was dethroned just 116 days into her reign. I think that through the last statement, this point can actually make a smooth transition to another entry in the trivia, that about Oxana being the only one to be officially dethroned (or incorporating this here). Also, I would have added somewhere along the last sentence that because Oxana was officially dethroned and a successor was elected in her place, the two would consequently share a reign which is regularly held by one winner, hence, the Oxana and her successor, Justine Pasek (reigned for 253) have the shortest reigns among the titleholders. I thought that adding this statement to the entire entry would make it something of a run-off sentence because it's too long, then again, the trivia entry about Oxana's dethronement mentions Justine as her successor, so it wouldn't hurt incorporating that entry into this one. As for the tallest Miss Universe, I still firmly stand by my pick (2003 winner Amelia Vega). For the oldest winner, I had a difficult time finding their birthdates (especially the winners of the first several decades), or even the age when they won. With the exception of two winners, I had some information for the winners from 1968 onward. And so far, the oldest winner among them is 1997's Brook Lee, who was 26 years and over 4 months old when she won, followed by her successor, Wendy Fitzwilliam, who was 25 years and over 7 months old. Since I couldn't find any info about the other winners, maybe we can just based the justification from the age limit (though I am not sure about the age limit before). But based on the official website, they made changes to the age limit around 1993 (I am betting that they just changed the maximum, while the minimum is still 18--e.g. remember Peru's winner who had problems when she won it because she was below the minimum age then), so we just need to find out the maximum age then. Currently, the upper age limit is "below 27", or 26, which means that in all likelihood, Brook Lee is indeed the oldest winner.Joey80 07:46, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just thinking if it won't be an overkill if we added another article listing concerning the Special Awards winners (Miss Photogenic--with footnote that starting this year, winners are chosen by Internet vote; Miss Congeniality; National Costumes, Style Award, etc.). In other words, this article will contain all existing and defunct special awards. Then again, such can also just be individually included in each edition page. University of Auckland block

There's a reason the following text appears automatically on the talk pages for IP users:

Please don't take comments left on the IP talk page personally, you should know better. The comment was directed at a very particular vandal who has been abusing University of Auckland computers, and more or less doing his best to make sure they get blocked. This is why I blocked the address for anonymous edits only; this was intentional, luck had nothing to do with it. A registered user like yourself can still use the same computers to edit. There have been cases in the past in which a student at a particular university has become such an odious vandal, that the university was "collectively punished" with a block; sometimes this is exactly what the vandal was trying to achieve (see, for example, user:woggly/Bar-Ilan vandal). That is why I used the new blocking feature which allows blocking unregistered users only, while legitimate registered users like yourself should not be affected by the block. I am not the only administrator who holds that requiring editors from a certain IP to register is a fair price to pay for a massive reduction in vandalism (see [1]). In the case of Auckland University, the bad apple is a vandal who has nicknamed himself "Loserdick", you can read about him here: Wikipedia:Long term abuse/Loserdick. He alone brought on the block of two U of Auckland IPs. If you yourself are affiliated with Auckland University, you can help by bringing the matter to the attention of University officials; there have been precedents for universities taking disciplinary action against students who repeatedly used university computers to vandalise Wikipedia. Also, if you can explain to me how you or any other legitimate registered user is being prevented from contributing to Wikipedia by the block, I will undo it. About Tabulating the performance

Good day again! May I ask if I may make a kind of tabulation (including the percentage) of the country's performance in the Miss Universe specifically the countries that make in the top ten, then six/five and then the runner's up just like what you did in the Miss Universe page (here what I mean -> click me!). Hi! Just would like to inform you that the naming conventions would be better addressed by Hedwig. I didn't do anything concerning those, my main focus are the maps and the linking of some country names to the national pageants instead (and also the updates of some flags). Naming Conventions in Miss Universe

Good day! I know about Wikipedia's naming conventions. As of now, Im burying myself to complete the Miss Universe pages (as if it has a deadline). If you have time, you could change long names. But I can correct those names, but it is after I finish all the pages. And it is true, it is very hard job doing the delegates name. There was a time (well most of the times), I could feel my eyes hurting because of looking in the monitor. I'm like you too, Im an Internet Addict too. Anyway goodluck to us. That's what I'm saying. But he/she still wants a source. Most of these info were from the specials saying what they are doing now. But he/she still wants a source. If you go to a supermodel's page like Naomi Campbell, you don't see people asking for citation on she modeled for Vogue, Elle,etc..But this guys has a problem with it. LilFlip's deliberately false sources

If you admit that you haven't checked the sources, why are you restoring them?? The source links do NOT contain the information they are supposedly backing up. Furthermore, you are restoring images that are illegally uploaded to Wikipedia and are scheduled for deletion in a few days anyway. Click the images and see for yourself. I've had time to read over several articles, talk pages, and also viewed many edits in relation to this issue. I feel User:Lil Flip246 has been given fair advice on adding references and citing sources, and perhaps it did become a little heavy handed when it appeared repeated requests by several editors to provide reliable sources were being ignored. I've also noted that rather than assuming good faith, Lil Flip246 did become a little argumentative when it appeared nobody was listening to her. Please be aware that the onus to provide references and sources for contributions rests solely with those adding the information, and any editor is permitted to remove any unsourced material at any time. Biographies of living persons are somewhat stricter with the requirement of sourced material, so it's best to include references where possible when editing articles within this category. That said, it's been noted you've been actively referencing material as advised to myself by other editors involved in the dispute. Perhaps you could take Lil Flip246 under your wing and share some of your editing knowledge to allow him/her to gain a better understanding of what Wikipedia requires? I trust you fully understand the dangers surrounding unsourced contributions when it comes to living people. Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Melrose Bickerstaff

This wasn't showing up in the log, so I moved it to today (in case it was a transclusion limit), but it still didn't work. I eventually found it there was a newline character between "Melrose" and "Bickerstaff", so it is now fixed but on the log for today rather than yesterday. Hope that is OK.
