Hi CDSCCDC. I have replied to your question about the CDC IDs / chembox just now. I wanted to mention that Wikipedia can be a bit daunting if you have not edited here before. Note that you almost certainly have to comply with the paid-editing disclosure (see WP:PAID) to be completely open about your affiliation, even if you have no plans to edit in article space. There's no shame in that but you should follow the instructions at that link. Also, account names on Wikipedia are for one individual, not for roles. Hence a better Username for you would be "John at CDC" or "Jane at CDC" rather than the name you have chosen, which might be seen as allowing multiple people to use it. As you have only made one edit from this CDSCCDC account, the safest approach would be to abandon it altogether and create a new account with a more appropriate name. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Once you are firmly established here, feel free to ask questions on my Talk Page (linked in my signature) and I'll be pleased to assist. Hi, I have taken your advice and created a new account to make it clear it is an individual account. I also added a notification on my account home page about my role at CCDC. I am not sure how to notify in the Wikiproject Chemistry talk channel about my COI though. The recommendation on Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure suggests that I need to put a notification at the top of the talk page, which makes sense for a standard Wikipedia entry but seems like overkill in this situation where this discussion will ultimately be buried in the archives. I feel it would be more helpful to put the notification at the top of the section in question so people understand what it relates to, but this can't be the first time something like this has occurred so I assume there is a precedent somewhere. I appreciate this is not your problem, but if you did have any advice it would be appreciated! David at CCDC (talk) 15:08, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
