Bold dots

You place ''' on each side of a piece of text to make it bold. For example, if you do '''CApin2win''', you will get CApin2win. Alternatively, you can click the "B" button in your editing toolbar (the toolbar is the thing right above the editing box). Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 02:35, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And the dots are bulletpoints. You add a * to get those. Adding more bulletpoints (like ****) indents a comment to the right. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 02:37, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see Nishkid's already started, but let me add my two cents:

  • how do u search for friends
You don't. We're not a networking site. If you know someone's user name, you can find them by typing "User:username" in the search box and hitting the "Go" button.
  • how do u do bold and fonts
To make a word bold, put three single quotes before and after it, like this: '''this is bold''', which will look like this: this is bold.
  • how do u do dots at beginnign of sentences
You put an asterisk (*) as the first character in a line to make it indent as part of a list. Putting a colon (:) as the first character will do an indent without adding the dot.
  • how do u block someone from editting ur page
You can't. If there's a problem, an administrator can do such a block. But ideally, anyone is allowed to edit any page.
Also, to sign a note (on talk pages, we don't sign articles), you can type ~~~~, which will be replaced by a link to your user page when the page is saved.
  • hey, so whats the userpage for
You can add a photo or biographical information, or just leave it blank....
  • how do i add a "leave me a message" link on my talk page
if you see something you like on a page, you can usually figure out how to do it by reading how it's done when you go to "edit this page". In this case, I've copied his code to your page for you. - Nunh-huh 02:44, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:42, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

For this, coupled with your edits to your user page and the AFD, you have been blocked for 24 hours. Please take that period to read up on what constitutes proper behavior on Wikipedia. You can appeal this block by placing {{unblock|your reason here}}, replacing "your reason here" with why you feel this block is unjustified. Metros (talk) 03:51, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

this guy is blocking me without any good reason and intentionally did not give instructions on how to unblock

Decline reason:

Your behavior is self-evidently disruptive. Besides you're lying when you said you never called anyone a moron ... you sure did. -Daniel Case (talk) 04:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • To people who have proficient command of the English language, it is clear that I was not referring to any one specific person. CApin2win (talk) 04:55, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I gave you how to request it right here. In fact, it's directly above your request. Yes, it wasn't included on the original block notice, but I had forgotten to do so until just as I hit save. I put the "how to unblock" part there 1 minute later. Metros (talk) 03:58, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • that link doesnt show how to request an unblock. CApin2win (talk) 04:00, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, it does. See the part that says "You can appeal this block..."? That's where I show how to appeal this block. Metros (talk) 04:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • you never gave me any info on unblocking until after i had already requested an unblock. CApin2win (talk) 04:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Why do you like to lie? You posted your request at 03:56. I posted the "how to" at 3:52. Metros (talk) 04:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
          • What was wrong with my user page before your last revert? CApin2win (talk) 07:14, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

uploads

how do i upload photos? can i upload a movie of me?

  • You can click on "Upload file" in the toolbox that you should see on the left-hand side of the page, and follow directions from there. You can only upload photos that you own the copyright to, and by uploading them you are granting permission for anyone to use them for any purpose, so make sure that's what you want to do. - Nunh-huh 02:55, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you took the pictures, you have the copyright. The copyright is automatic; you can certainly upload pictures of yourself taken by yourself. - Nunh-huh 03:00, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not if the pictures are mostly of a statue, sculpture, painting or mural currently under copyright. In that case it's a derivative work and copyright belongs to the original creator or current owner. At least in the U.S. See freedom of panorama. Daniel Case (talk) 04:11, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • My figure is statuesque, but I am not actually a statue. Thank you for your interest. CApin2win (talk) 07:19, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The pictures in question were of himself, and my comments were addressed to the specifics, and not to a discussion of copyright in general. I don't think CApin2win is a statue, sculpture, painting or mural. - Nunh-huh 04:46, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I believe that I was blocked because Metros has some kind of personal vendetta against me. I would like an impartial third party to review the situation and grant my unblock request so I can continue contributing to Wikipedia. I would also like the reviewer to comment on the fact that Metros will not allow me to remove any of his changes to either my user or talk page. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Reblocked indefinitely

Per Checkuser evidence this account has been established as a sockpuppet of User:Dimension31 and reblocked indefinitely. ~ Riana 07:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
