Hello, Buenosdiass,

Thank you for creating Jay Kalansooriya.

Notice

The article Jay Kalansooriya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG, lacks significant coverage in multiple independent reliable secondary sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jay Kalansooriya (AfD)

Rather than have an Q&A on the AfD it is preferable that I address your queries here:

  1. As per the requirements of WP:ANYBIO / WP:NJOURNALIST, in order to establish that an individual is notable there needs to be "significant coverage in multiple independent reliable secondary sources", not merely a series of mentions in passing, as you've currently provided. A reference that simply states that he ranks among the top influential columnists in Sri Lanka in 2018 doesn't constitute significant coverage - it is not a recognised award. There is no evidence that the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing has the credentials to judge or determine who the top journalists in the country are - apart from the fact that they are a non-notable organisation (at this stage).
  2. There is a lot of unsourced information in the article, which almost draws the conclusion that this may well be original research and that there may be a potential conflict of interest.
  3. The reference to Ajith Jayasinghe is meaningless unless there is clear references that clearly establish that there is a link between the two individuals.

You need to really address the fundamentals particularly addressing the criteria of WP:ANYBIO. Dan arndt (talk) 04:40, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand. What's wrong with adding content with sources. I checked the wiki spam index before posting these references. Others have cited these sources too. I was just trying to add information to wiki. I've also cited other sites too. Why not them if you're trying to ban my contributions? Buenosdiass (talk) 06:55, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You'll need to promote your aggregator sites elsewhere. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:27, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
