DISPLAYTITLE

{{DISPLAYTITLE}} is to add italics or other "special" mark-up to a page title, not to rename a page. It specifically will not do anything useful if the desired title isn't letter-for-letter similar to the actual page title. Since it has no visible effect, I have removed it. See Wikipedia:DISPLAYTITLE for details.

I have taken your repeated attempts to add this to Dan Lauby Jr to mean you want the page renamed. Ordinarily, I would have just renamed it for you. However, the external link on the page refers to him as "Dan" rather than "Danny" which means the move is potentially controversial and a discussion is required. I've opened a discussion on the article's talk page. The determination to move or not will be based on which name is most associated with this person by the general public and/or by reliable sources. For more information on moving a page where there is any possibility of people disagreeing with the move, please read Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves. For information on article titles and moves in general, please read Wikipedia:Article titles, Wikipedia:Moving a page, and the rest of Wikipedia:Requested moves.

We should know within a week or so if the page should be moved or not. A neutral editor will make the call based on the discussion over the next week. In most cases, the decision will be obvious, and the discussion will serve as a "historical record" of the reason the page was or was not moved. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:58, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Signing your comments

It is very helpful if you "sign" your comments with ~~~~. The server will automatically replace the four tildes with your "signature" which includes a link to your user page, a link to your user talk page, and the date and time. See WP:Signatures for more details. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:04, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
