Wondabyne

Hi - I noticed you have written some articles on the Wondabyne area. I was wondering whether you had any photos of the railway station there which you could upload to Wikipedia? It's quite difficult to get to, so someone's photo would be really helpful. Thanks. JRG 01:49, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to upload net photos, Wikipedia is a free-content encyclopedia, so it's not that simple. You can't just copy net photos as they are usually copyrighted and not suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you have any free-licensed photos, however, you just need to click the "File Upload Wizard" button on the left of the Wikipedia window in the menu panel. Thanks anyway. Request for Usurpation of your alternate account User:A

Hello, Brian Hickey. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your alternate account User:A because you have not used it to edit, and another user would like to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations says that any unused username may be usurped if the user is given seven days notice to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to having your alternate account renamed to a new username in order for another user to utilize the name you currently have, please log in as post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request will be filled after seven days, and your alternate account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in as User:A and make an edit. You may make an edit here saying "No," you may make an edit to blank this page, or any other edit you like; making any edit at all prevents your username from being usurped, because users with edits cannot have their usernames usurped.

Please note this does not prevent you from editing, or cause you to lose any data; all your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username if your current one is usurped.

Sorry to hear about the deletion of your article - it's disappointing that people don't care about your efforts in editing. Please stay around and edit Wikipedia - your contributions are valuable and are wanted, even if it doesn't feel that way. JRG 06:48, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Uploading pictures

Hi Brian

good to talk to you this afternoon. Do you need more help with the upload file? I usually upload to the wikipedia commons. You have to register there as well to upload there. Then all the projects can make use of the pictures. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
