Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Removing talk page comment

At Talk:Istvan Kecskes you removed another editor's talk page comment, with the edit summary "Removed a hostile rant from an anonymous poster and suggested they review wikipedia procedures". I agree that the comment was a hostile rant, but editing or removing another editor's comment is not normally acceptable. There are some exceptions, mentioned at WP:TPO, but I do not see that on this occasion there is a special circumstance which justifies the removal. In addition, there is the further fact that the comment you removed was critical of you, so that for you to remove it was especially questionable, as you had a clear conflict of interest. Please do not take action of this sort again, or you may be blocked from editing. The fact that you do not think a comment is justifiable is not in itself justification for removing it. In a situation where you think a comment critical of yourself needs removal, you should be very reluctant to do so yourself, rather than seeking the opinion of a neutral third party. In the exceptional situation where there is justification for immediate removal (as, for example, in the case of serious libel) you should seek contribution by a third party, perhaps an administrator, immediately. I prefer not to become involved in the dispute on the article (though I will do so if necessary), and my concern here is only the removal of one editor's comment by another. Thanks. Your concern and the issue is understood. I have repeatedly asked for actual evidence or at least criteria that will help make decisions about editing this piece and instead get anonymous name calling. (Although I cannot prove it, I do believe that the last four people besides myself to comment on the article are all one and the same person.) Anyway, I do understand that removing things critical of myself does create a conflict-of-interest situation. Thanks again and message received. 08:17, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
