Edited Legal Status for clarification, particularly relating to the Stockholm Convention. Please note that lindane is not “banned” internationally. Rather, member countries to the Stockholm Convention have agreed to eliminate agricultural uses of lindane while public health uses are currently exempt: “[Stockholm Convention]Decides to amend part I of Annex A of the Convention to list lindane therein with a specific exemption for the use of lindane as a human health pharmaceutical for the control of head lice and scabies as second line treatment” (http://chm.pops.int/Portals/0/Repository/COP4/UNEP-POPS-COP.4-38.English.pdf)

Accept my apologies in advance if I'm off base here, but: I strongly suspect that you are affiliated with Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals, the sole US formulator and distributor of Lindane. If you indeed are affiliated with them, then you need to refrain from editing Lindane per the COI policy cited above. Here's my evidence:
- The fact that you are a single purpose account focused on down playing the hazards associated with Lindane is suspicious, though by itself proves nothing.
- You created User:Blancer707/Sandbox2.
- The only other editor to edit User:Blancer707/Sandbox2 is 76.222.214.56 (talk · contribs), and that's the only page the IP has edited. Clearly, Blancer and 76.222.214.56 are the same person.
- 76.222.214.56 geolocates to Highland Park, Il, which is just 20 minutes from Morton Grove, IL, home of Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals (which has since been acquired by Wockhardt USA, but is still located in MG, IL[1].
It seems like too close of a coincidence that an editor with such a singular interest in Lindane just happens to be editing from 20 minutes away from the one company in the US that manufactures the stuff. But maybe there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. Yilloslime TC 05:00, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
