Major winner tables

I think all Academy Award articles should have their "major winner tables" reformatted like the one in this article. I already had fixed it for the 75th and 76th Academy Awards' articles.Birdienest81 (talk) 19:01, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I did that reformatting. I am curious why you made the above post ... why did you want all the others reformatted in the way that I reformatted this one? I am just curious. I assume that you like my formatting better --- but, what specifically is it that you prefer? Thanks. Please let me know. Thanks. If you can, please reply at My Talk Page. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 04:28, 5 March 2008 (UTC))

Academy Awards - Ratings

Hi. I see that you have added a Ratings Chart to the Academy Award article. I think it's a great addition -- thanks! One thing is confusing, though. In the Chart, you have the last column listed as "Source". Yet, none of the numbers in the actual chart agree with the numbers in the "Source" cited. Am I missing something? I am really confused. I didn't want to go in and make a lot of changes, thinking that I might have missed something here. Can you please fill me in? Please reply at my Talk Page. Thanks! (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 04:53, 7 March 2008 (UTC))

I got your messages - thanks. A quick response, for now --- and I will follow-up more fully later. The statistics and figures in the Academy Award article / chart have a source listed. However, the source that is listed does not match the actual data in the chart. Why are those listed as sources, then? If you are getting the data from other sources, then why not list those other sources in the "Source" section of the Chart? Thanks. Also --- does the Nielson Ratings Company have any formalized list / chart / table / etc. that serves as the "official" source? Do you know? I imagine, they must --- since they themselves are the source of this data --- no? Please reply at my Talk Page. Thanks! (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 20:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC))

2008

2008 is following the model set by articles of previous years.... 2007, 2006, 2005, and so on all look very similar to 2008. I believe that elections especially deserve to be listed, and if the entry is something such as "February 19 - Presidential election in Armenia," the link for Presidential election actually sends you to the specific article about the Armenian elections. --Tocino 01:06, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:38th Grammy Awards logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:38th Grammy Awards logo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:18, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

I have nominated List of Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award winners by age at win, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award winners by age at win. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

82nd Academy Awards

Hi, you are adding a triviA section, which it's already on others sections on the article. Please read Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/82nd Academy Awards/archive1 for further information, thanks TbhotchTalk C. 20:27, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

=== Trivia ==

There are notable events sections in other Oscar ceremony articles. I'm not trying to create a trivia section. I'm trying to give information on details. Here are other example:

[[1]] [[2]]

The problem is, the article is currently nominated to WP:FL (that article links are not FL status). One of the reviewrs add to his comments "The 'notable events' section appears to be a list of trivia. " So please, do not add it again, fail WP:TRIVIA because those "notable events" are on other sections and WP:NOR, make some events better than other. TbhotchTalk C. 20:34, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Userbox

This userbox ({{User Featured List|82nd Academy Awards}}) is also for you. Although I provided reliable sources and I nominated to FL, you are the mayor contributor with the prose. Congrats. TbhotchTalk C. 17:36, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:62nd Primetime Emmys.png

Thanks for uploading File:62nd Primetime Emmys.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:16, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Collaborative news on quippd

Hey, I noticed that you had recently edited the Emmys article, and I hoped that you could help out on another collaborative community edited project.

I run quippd, a collaboratively edited social news site, which mixes elements of Wikis, social networking, and social news sites. You can get some more information about what we are doing at: http://quippd.com/about/intro

Basically, we want to get good coverage on news stories, collaboratively edited, like Wikipedia. We are trying to take the ideas of WikiFactCheck -- to make news less biased and speedier (unlike something like Wikinews). By combining social elements to the project, we hope to bring the benefits of wiki enabled fact checking and npov ideas to the masses.

I hope you check us out -- and feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

RE: Help with 83rd Academy Awards article

There's nothing I could do now, there's not a background where it can be moved. Either way, people like trivias and those are afew of the upcoming (irrelevant) information. Try to remove it, but keep in mind someone would revert you since "it has reliable sources and are 'notable events'". Or you can wait until days after the ceremony when people do not care about it anymore. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 03:41, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

lol, as I told you, people love trivias, but don't worry, is temporary (until the Oscars get over this year, later they will no request them). For the 81st ceremony, you can ask me for help if you believe it necessary, anything, just let me know, but by the way, the article should go through WP:FL not WP:FA. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 02:06, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
First of all, the inforation is incorrect, it's since 2005, not 2004; but anyway if you are unable to find a source of a "fact", you have to remove it, Wikipedia is not a collector of unsourced allegations. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 03:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes you have to remove the quotes, per WP:QUOTE and/or WP:QUOTEFARM, and for the segments, it can be merged into a relevant section, such as the ceremony production, of course if there is any source. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 04:26, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the late answer, busy week. OK, criticism sections commonly are not well received by some users because "it would be unneutral". The thing is that Wikipedia supports those criticism, e.g. The lead should ... summarize the most important points—including any prominent controversies. If you are able to write those kind of sections in a neutral way, such as this article, they can go. For the clean-up, well, it is a really good start, keep in it. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 20:40, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Re: 83rd Oscars

Believe it or not, the current critical reception section is written in a neutral way, but if you get positive reviews of the broadcast, Hathaway, Franco and Hathaway/Franco, it would be better.

For the second, what would be missed, I think that the most important is there (the nominees and winners), but like the previous three articles (at least), is there any "controversy"? I remember that Melissa Leo became the first person in say the 'F' word in an acceptance speech, this is an example. The article also need some sources and a clean-up of them. If you are able to find informaton about the ceremony itself, such as when Anne and James were digitally introduced in the Best Picture Nominees, or Bob Hope appearance. If you need with anything. do not hesitate in tell me. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 00:58, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Try to archive all the possible links using Webcite, see WP:Webcite for further information. The 82nd ceremony has many dead links and I'll have to replace them, so you can avoid this archiving them. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 17:22, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

RE: Dead Links on 82nd Oscars

I really love offline sources, they'll never be a problem. Thank you so much for your edits Birdien. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 21:13, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

You gave me a wrong link (to my talkpage) Anyway, that information have to go, especially if it was widely covered by media. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 00:58, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
You need to add a {{subst:PR}} atop 83rd's talkpage. After you save it, it'll appear a "To start Peer Review choose an appropriate topic from the list below and click on the link to create the review page." Choose either "Arts" or "list" (which you believe it is the appropiate). After this, you'll appear editing the Wikipedia:Peer review/83rd Academy Awards/archive1, with the message "I've listed this article for peer review because…" and then you give the reason why it should be peer reviewed. After you save this, like 15 minutes later it will appear automatically at Wikipedia:Peer review. It may take sometime to be reviewed, it's normal. And that's all. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 03:16, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

People I've seen interesed in sports are User:TonyTheTiger, User:Courcelles, User:ThinkBlue and User:NiciVampireHeart as far as I can remember now. For the second, since it falls into the NBA wikiproject (as well as Wikipedia:WikiProject Basketball) I'd check this category: Category:GA-Class NBA articles articles like 1973–74 Buffalo Braves season and 1998–99 NBA lockout are good examples to know what to do; and even they are not related, use Wikiprojects about sport such as WP:FOOTY (1923 FA Cup Final, 1956 FA Cup Final, 1878 FA Cup Final, 2002 UEFA Cup Final) those are helpful in many ways. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 01:57, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Do not worry, personal life first. Sure, I'll help you when I am able to do it. ۞ Tbhotch & (ↄ), Problems with my English? 20:04, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

That's quite sometime, I've known about Wiki since 2007/8. The best way to do talk about what do you like or do is using userboxes, or giving a short description about you, as you already do. A helpful editor? Just keep doing what are you doing now. The main priority of a Wikipedian is, and always will be, articles, anything else is secondary. But if you want to "help" you may work at WP:Reference desk and WP:Help desk, or probably reverting vandalism. Another option is creating and improving articles. All depends in what you believe its good for you and the community. ۞ Tbhotch & (ↄ), Problems with my English? 03:42, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
