Hi. A page you deleted as spam - Draft:Talos Holdings LLC - reappeared almost instantly. The new account which recreated it (almost word for word) has declared a COI. User:Hellometa - author of the deleted version - apparently has not. --kingboyk (talk) 21:56, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

@Kingboyk: :-) Not an issue, it was a lucky confluence of stories tying together, and one of which I am very much on the edge of seeing, though maybe I am just seeing a good lever point. In fact I think that I am seeing overlap of different schemes of paid vanity editing. If I was guessing for this lot, and @Bbb23: may be able to confirm or deny that this ring is operating out of the Asia, my guess would be Pakistan somewhere.

Some of these seem to be very much focusing on publications from IGI Global (igi-global.com) so it has some smell of a publisher involvement, or could just be fringe writers using that publisher to get their work out. I haven't been through enough edits though very much think that some tracking based on addition of Google Books url, with IGI Global as the publisher may have some value.  Comment: Another possible situation is that we are talking about a school or some common IP place. My thoughts on location are unchanged reflection on the subject matters.. Some of the account editing appears different, some of the tasks they were doing appear okay. I haven't look at the coincidental activity. Hi. I prefer to conduct conversation about my onwiki acts, onwiki, not tucked away in email. Wikipedia is not a directory of links (see WP:DIRECTORY, and WP:External links). Your institute's existence has no relevance in an encyclopaedic sense, to the article, and that is the only measure to be applied. Typically a link to your institute would be on an article page for your institute.

Can I also point you to the following articles Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Paid editing and as a researcher, you would be well aware of the required declarations in published papers. There are a number of mistakes in the encyclopedic content on the Showbread page as well as a lot of missing info that we have documented as apart of our research. May I correct the errors and add the new findings that are lacking on the page and reference our Institute as the source, since it is we that uncovered them? Sorry - you are on point :) since we started with you and the conversation is already ongoing .... and I am a teatotaller and not ready to explore the depths of the "teahouse" :)

We are a reliable source. How do we establish our credentials as a reliable source with Wikipedia? The religious Rabbinic framework is not the same as the university/academic world. Our findings are presented to leading Rabbinic authorities who then endorse them (or not) and then we disseminate them via the institutes of higher learning (the Yeshiva framework) in a series of lectures (shiur). There are no journals that deal with this stuff - nobody has seriously studied it in the last 2000 years! All our credentials are verbal and by reputation ..... and in Hebrew!

So I imagine Wikipedia would want some written reference in a journal (that does not exist) or secular academic university study (that is not the framework for this material), so we are pretty much stuck?

You crosswiki spammed links that would not be considered reliable sources. Is that sufficient? Now I see you at this account, then I think that I can add to my answer would be with editing somewhere on the spectrum of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest <=> Wikipedia:Paid editing and your editing in contravention of that guidance. If you are after support for a newbie, then please look to wikipedia:Teahouse or seek assistance at the wiki of your preferred language; each will have basically the same approach to conflict of interest editing. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:33, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Digital Journal

So, I mentioned this in our previous conversations, I've come across a few sources which are used in excess (so much so that COIBot can't effectively report) and Digital Journal was one of them. I don't know if it's ever been reputable but I can say with certainty it hasn't in the last decade and is user submitted garbage + PR garbage that is written to appear as genuine journalism. I think we'll need to have an RFC at least on en-wiki to really stop the use of it but I wanted to get your thoughts (or see if you wanted to propose it because I'm lazy. :P) Praxidicae (talk) 16:54, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

This will give you some needed background and the nature of the recent edits by 90.219.111.127 and why the bio should be returned to the point that this particular editor (who has a history with my husband) began his punitive edits. Per policy (and as as noted by scarpy and chihuahua on the talk page) the page should be protected in the state prior to the vandalism and the newly inserted edits scrutinized and concensus reached prior to protection. It's protected and that's great but it's been corrected in a borderline vandalized state. My husband is being portrayed as a racist and he is not. I will post my rebuttal to the points on the talk page within the next 24 or so hours and you all can decide. In the interest of taking a cautionary approach to the editing of a BLP, kindly revert to the neutral version by Johnnyyiu until consensus is achieved. DrL (talk) 20:41, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

@DrL: Where you are taking your concerns is the best place, not here on my talk page. I don't know enough about the subject matter to make any conclusions. Johnnyyiu's edits should not stand as neutral or authoritative as they obviously do not come without a finger in the pie either; we pick a place in the article's history to which we return, and rebuild from there. @Ponyo: This is one where you made some determinations. @Creffett: Only on two wikis, and not blocked on either, so it isn't a case of a global lock— ie. local communities can manage. I have COIBot watching the domain m:User:COIBot/XWiki/lifemotos.com so things are okay. Antoine Hamilton

Dear administrator. I do not understand your correction on the article Antoine Hamilton. I am a novice in Wikipedia. Have I fallen foul of some rule in the MOS that forbids to crop a portrait? The full picture was shown further down and is still there. Now we have twice the same image. Besides, the caption of the picture in the Infobox still says "Detail from ...". I thought it was nice to have a ID-photo-like picture in the Infobox and then the full uncropped portrait below that might have a longer caption explaining the picture. I did this also in some other articles: Claude de Mesmes, comte d'Avaux, Sir George Hamilton, 1st Baronet, of Donalong, and James Hamilton, Duke of Châtellerault. Eroy1998 'Chilapata Forests' page

Hello Billinghurst, I don't understand why providing information about the wildlife of Chilapata is an advertisement. Also, if you have observed my contributions on 'Ramgua tree' on 'Tourism' section of the page, they are a rare breed of plants found in Chilapata, and it does require mention in the wikipedia page. You can just google it if you want to check. I fail to understand why this legit information seems to be an advertisement. Please do reconsider the matter after proper research. Whereas your adding a tourist homestay site is not and never will be considered a reliable source at an encyclopaedia. Also tourism does not particularly belong at Wikipedia, it is more appropriate at Wikivoyage, who also reverted your link additions.   • I understand why my addition of a tourist homestay site is not being considered. But if you look closely into the matter, I cited that particular webpage, since I had used information from it. And, the reason I suggested you to do a little bit research is because, you'll not find information about Chilapata wildlife and Ramgua tree in such an organized and structured manner as in that tourist homestay webpage. Ofcourse information is there on the internet but in bits and pieces across various websites. So if I'm using information which is accurate (can be cross checked on google by anyone) from a particular website, am I not allowed to put it in citation? Thanks for renaming File:CEHPOU.png to c:File:(Cyclopentadienyl)zirconium-trichloride-3D-balls.png. I wonder if you could revise the new titles to include the old one, which is a code that identifies the dataset behind the image. For example File:(Cyclopentadienyl)zirconium-trichloride-CEHPOU.png. If you search my Wiki commons contributions, you will find hundreds of files with similarly cryptic names/codes. --Smokefoot (talk) 14:34, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

@Smokefoot: I simply undertook a rename request per c:Commons:File renaming criteria, there is no judgment on a person, or a name, just adding clarity. Hmm, names, I am not even certain why we have hyphens in the suggestion, wondering whether File:(Cyclopentadienyl)zirconium trichloride 3D-balls CEHPOU.png or something like that may be more suitable. Regarding user PlanetAakash and BenJulio87

Very suspicious of these 2 accounts, they have been gaming the system, there might be more sockpuppet accounts associated with it, which they use to write paid articles, the recent one is of Karan Jani. He didn't achieve any substantial prize note-worthy -> the one which he received worthy is Breakthrough Prize which was shared with 1012 contributors, here is the link -> https://breakthroughprize.org/News/32, and other awards are just local university awards which he got at his university he studied. He doesn't pass the Notability criteria for academics. Also, PlanetAakash has done paid articles before, you can check on his talk page, and BenJulio87(his supposedly uncle who is an Australian by birth(Indian Government Official lol!) created a Draft:Aakash Gautam(who is PlanetAakash). 2405:201:C808:F33:C5D4:D25F:2C97:E3B3 (talk) 11:15, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Verifiability of TVWish

You recently removed the citations from TVWish on the page Colors Infinity. As an Indian who watches English GEC's, I can tell you that the information is accurate indeed and all the show's that are listed on the website do air at the time given. sethlui.com links are not entirely spam

I do not agree with your removal of sethlui.com links at List of Singaporean dishes and Kopi tiam, because it made the contents unsubstantiated. You should know better

As an administrator. Go to WP:RSN or take the article to AFD. I have heard so many baloney reason- Spam, cookies, and not the original author. I should probably take you to ANI. BTW, yesterday I nominated for deletion two similar golf course articles created by the same editor. @WilliamJE: As an administrator I also know when a source is being spammed on wikis. I didn't come to the article through an interest in the article, I came through the spamming of the domain across the wiki. Now that I am back at my PC with my refs, please have a look at m:User:COIBot/LinkReports/top100golfcourses.com which is the edits of the account that I removed though you have reinstated. Now please tell me how a rating by a website which has a grandiose name but ratings by no named person with no rating criteria, by a site that has no evidence of expertise has any relevance to our encyclopaedia. Now please remove that domain from that article.

Take me to ANI, couldn't give a flying F. You did not come to me and ask in the first place, nor post on the talk page, you just reverted to a spam link of an unreliable source.
