Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 5th Filmfare Awards Bangla into Draft:6th Filmfare Awards Bangla. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:34, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Box Office Collection

Heyy@BhikhariInformer your recent edit at Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is reverted by someone. Assuming as your edit as Good faith, I want to tell you that we at ICTF don't consider production house figure or any primary source that cites Production house Figures as reliable as they are highly manipulated and especially south one which are infamous for that, a recent example we have of Kabzaa. We uses Independent box office trackers mainly like Bollywood Hungama , Box Office India, or Pinkvilla. I hope you understood. Thanks Tousif ❯❯❯ Talk 13:46, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel Quinlan:
I updated the latest numbers of 3 week collection but by mistake I attached the citation stating the box office till 2 weeks. I have attached citation from the same site which is currently cited in the article. Although not considered reliable according to Wikipedia, it provides almost accurate box office numbers for many Bengali films and is considered as a source of box office collection in Bengali industry. I hope that citation would be okay.

Thanks for informing me that the concept of contentious topics. I didn't knew about them earlier.
BhikhariInformer (talk) 12:32, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. — Newslinger talk 09:57, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon You have recently made edits related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. This is a standard message to inform you that articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics. — Newslinger talk 09:57, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Newslinger:
Over the last few months, I have edited a number of articles regarding living or deceased people: mostly actors, actresses, film makers, music composers and singers. So, could you tell me the name of the particular biographical articles, editing for which caused my to receive this message.
Becoz I would like to know which type of edits were wrong in the biographical articles. Then I would refrain myself in the future from such edits.
Thanks BhikhariInformer (talk) 15:04, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi BhikhariInformer, the above messages are standard notices issued to editors who demonstrate interest in contentious topics. Many editors participating in contentious topics receive a notice for each topic area. As stated in the notice text, receiving these types of messages "does not imply that there are any issues with your editing". I included the notice about the "living or recently deceased people" contentious topic only because you have been editing biographies of living people, as you mention.
These contentious topic notices are not to be confused with warnings such as the one I posted in #May 2024; warnings are issued in response to edits that fall short of meeting a policy or guideline in some way. Per the verifiability policy, "All material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists, and captions, must be verifiable. All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the material." Additionally, "A source 'directly supports' a given piece of material if the information is present explicitly in the source so that using this source to support the material is not a violation of Wikipedia:No original research."
Within contentious topics, articles tend to be scrutinized more closely to ensure that they are compliant with policies and guidelines, including the verifiability policy. Please make sure your edits are adequately supported by cited reliable sources before submitting them, especially when the article subject is controversial. Thanks. — Newslinger talk 21:43, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I got it.
Thanks
