In early life and education I will include that her mother helped introduce her to science and her father influenced her liking for culture and travel. Also in her early life, I will mention obstacles that Patricia Bath said she faced such as racism, sexism, and poverty. The article includes a small amount of imformation about Bath winning an award in 1960, but I will elaborate more on this. I will mention that she obtained this award by attending a cancer research at 16 and that the program head was so impressed that he put her discoveries in a scientific paper which lead to the award. I intend on mentioning that she traveled to developing countries to donate equipment, lecture, and perform surgeries. I plan on mentioning that her greatest passion was fighting blindness. In career I will include that in 1975 she became the first African-American woman surgeon at the UCLA medical center. I will also mention that she took her research to other countries and mainly researched laser science while abroad. Those countries were Germany, France, and England.

Citation style note

Hello, Bhall97. :) Recognizing that you may not have noticed that I left a message for you at the talk page of Patricia Bath (Talk:Patricia Bath), I'm stopping by to repeat it here and to ask you to please use proper citation styles for the article you've selected or been assigned to work on.

One challenge in working on this article is that the reference system it uses is a little more complex than other articles. It uses short citations instead of the common Wikipedia form of full citation in each footnote. It's not really a difficult system to use, but the automatic referencing you find, for instance, with the VisualEditor doesn't automatically lend itself to this style. I'm sure you're familiar with the style from classes, as it is a common academic style.

Please make sure you use proper citation style for the article going forward, and if you can, please fix the improper citations you've added.

If you have any problems using the footnote system or anything else, please feel free to drop me a note at my talk page or at talk:Patricia Bath. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:33, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
