Hi. I wonder if you are part of the music history class at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee? Are you intending to work on the Handel article. Please let me know if I can help you. Best regards. --Kleinzach 05:34, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see you are now going ahead with editing - but can you please be careful not to change the meaning of the text? Thank you. --Kleinzach 08:54, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kleinzach, I tried to send you a message on your page, but I probably did not do it correctly. Sorry. Hopefully you will get this. I am from the music history class at Union, and my assignment is to edit the Handel article. We are supposed to check the existing citations(which I found all correct), find citations for existing material in the article and insert 15-20 new statements with citations. I just tried to find more details on the information already given in the article for the last part, and I don't think I will add anything that changes the meaning of the text. If I do mess something up, I'm very sorry. Believe me it is not my intent at all. Thanks for your help. --Belle5410 (talk) 09:20, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, for some reason your message didn't get through. There's some information about how to use WP in the Welcome box I put above. Regarding your assignment, you might consider adding a 'Critical appreciation' section with quotations (statements). We normally have one of these for each composer but Handel is missing one. I think writing this section would be a convenient way for you to fulfill your task.
Some editors at the Composers Project have been a bit concerned about your teacher's project, see here. May we ask who your teacher is? What is his/her name/user name? Best wishes. --Kleinzach 09:36, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kleinzach, sorry I still haven't figured out how to use this talk section. Maybe this will get your attention again. I'm very sorry for any trouble this project has caused you--if it makes you feel better I haven't enjoyed it that much either. I mean it has been a interesting experience; but even after doing research,I don't feel qualified to edit a wikipedia article. I'd much rather write a paper. I'm done making any changes. If there is anything I can do to help you, like deleting all my edits after my teacher has graded this project, please let me know. I do not know the user name of my professor, sorry. I really do feel bad about any trouble this assignment has caused you. And again as soon as it's graded--and being how it's due 12/8--it shouldn't be too long, I'll try to delete everything I changed. --Belle5410 (talk) 10:31, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should not delete anything that added to the article, we appreciate any input. Just let the other editors judge your contributions and do not feel too bad. Everyone was new to Wikipedia at some point after all. I left Kleinzach a note of your reply. Regards SoWhy 12:11, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, Belle5410, you are very welcome here. I hope you stay and become a contributor. However SoWhy is not correct is saying we appreciate any input. We see a lot of vandalism, plagiarism and poor editing of other kinds, that certainly isn't appreciated here.
A number of editors have expressed concerns about your teacher telling you to do 'n' edits to WP by a certain date - instead of introducing you to the encyclopedia, explaining how it works, and encouraging you to contribute in a more normal way. Several of us have unsuccessfully asked who your teacher is. I guess he or she is just not courageous enough to come and talk to us about it.
I've had a look at the Handel page again and I don't think there are any problems - you don't need to delete anything. I may have a look at the phrasing later - hope that's OK with you. Best wishes. --Kleinzach 01:08, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
