Citation templates and whatnot

Hi,

I noticed on your edits to David Horrobin that you're adding straight links. There's no rules that says you have to use them, but Citation templates are very easy to generate and ensure a standardized, and useful reference is generated for each citation. There's also a variety of tools that generate the references automatically, including:

Thought you might be interested. Also note that I've written an essay for new editors that has received minor acclaim, and you may find it useful. Plus, I love spamming it. WLU (talk) 16:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi WLU. Thanks for the warm welcome, great links and some of the best spam I've tasted for a long while :-) The citation tools look interesting, particularly the autogeneration from Pubmed - that will save a lot of typing and gives a proper format. In the Horrobin article I was trying to match the existing style. Perhaps when I find my feet I might try to reformat the work of others, but not yet. Anyway, nice to meet you and look forward to seeing you in the talk sections. Beechnut (talk) 21:39, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Note that your spacing is a bit off, have a gander about WP:TALK, or re-read this section of my essay, specifically point 8. WLU (talk) 19:32, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, yes. Just as well it doesn't matter here. I'll leave it foir others to smile at in posterity. Useful article on talk - thanks. Beechnut (talk) 21:37, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Gamma-Linolenic acid regarding brackets

I don't know if you are watching the talk page for GLA, so I just wanted to let you know that I replied to your comment over there regarding the edit of parentheses.mmortal03 (talk) 06:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I've got a watch on it. I'll reply to your comments there. Beechnut (talk) 20:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please reconsider your retirement

Beechnut, I personally know the disappointment you feel about the David Horrobin article. And I'm not going to blow smoke up your ass and tell you that everything is perfect and fair in Wikipedialand. But you should not retire, you should stick around and learn. I too have experienced disbelief when others with whom I disagreed were able to win the debate by means that I considered unfair, but by sticking around, you will learn in time that the rules do work in the long run to create a better encyclopedia. You will lose a battle now and then, but the overall project does improve. Please reconsider your departure. It's worth sticking around, really, it is. Unschool 02:41, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
