Hi -- the facts you changed at the article Dartmouth College are not supported by the citation already given, which says nine libraries (not ten) and doesn't mention six million items (in fact, when you add the numbers they give there, you come up with 3,225,370). Everything on Wikipedia has to be verifiable, cited to a reliable source, in order to be included; if you find something that you think is wrong, please cite the source where you are finding your alternate information (you can just do it between brackets like this: [http://www.google.com]) so that it doesn't get removed. well-known vs. well known
Both are correct, but they're used in different ways. When the two words are used together as an adjective ("Bob is a well-known student."), then they are hyphenated. When the two words are used as a verb/adverb combination ("The students at Dartmouth are well known for drinking a lot."), they are two separate words (well modifies are known).
