Re: requesting administrator removal of diffs

If all you want is the deletion of certain revisions (i.e. you don't mind them being visible to admins), I can do it for you. Just tell me (whether by Special:EmailUser or with a message at my talk) the pages and the times and dates of the edits you'd like to be deleted. I can't delete just those edits, but I can delete the page itself restore it minus the edits you don't want. Nyttend (talk) 04:47, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I can't remember the context. In general, what's wrong with the edits — do they contain personally identifying information, or is it something else? Nyttend (talk) 05:22, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, oversight is applicable for private information. The first criterion at Wikipedia:Oversight permits "Removal of non-public personal information, such as phone numbers, home addresses, workplaces or identities of pseudonymous or anonymous individuals who have not made their identity public. This includes hiding the IP data of editors who accidentally logged out and thus inadvertently revealed their own IP addresses." Nyttend (talk) 21:12, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Links

Hi Astro. I am generally supportive of your motives and additions. However, you added an external link to the Amundsen sea article that refered to Pine Island Glacier as if it was on an island. I don't want to go around reverting your additions because I understand that this is a difficult subject for the media to get right but please please go a little deeper on the research and I can help with explanations before you add to these articles. I promise you I am not trying to censor anything. Even if I disagree with some of the science I will not censor its addition to wikipedia so long as it is not seriously demonstrably wrong..
